1. im at 1300 miles..and wanted to use Motul oil...certain car companies void warranty if you dont use their recommended oil...will porsche void my warranty ?

2. just bought short shift kit from porsche ($550)...ouch...they wanted $360 (2hrs labor) for intsallation...thought that was extreme...any ideas..i thought it shoulkd only be 1hr for install.

How are they going to know what oil you use .As long as it is synthetic you should be fine.

there are alot of Porsche shops out there other then the dealership try them they will give you a better price on labor

You can install the SSK yourself, it's a fairly simply DIY. The hardest part for me was getting the shift **** off. Instructions in PDF format are readily available. Budget about 2 hours for the first time. Someone who has done it before should be able to do it in 30-40 minutes.

The price for labor is about right for your SSK. Like previously stated, its probably just as easy to DIY the job. Pulling the shift **** off and removing the boot can get interesting...just be patient.

Sammy, just be sure to use the recommend viscosity...0w/40 - 5w/40 - 5w/50 and that the oil is a synthetic. Your dealer will have an approved Porsche oil list.
