Full hood for me on my 997. Go with venture shield. My M3 was done by Sam and the guys at Premier almost 3 1/2 years ago. I chose the standard M3 kit at the time and it still looks great. Though I wish I had done the full hood as there are some rock chips on the back half. The line doesn't bother me at all. For the 997, I found a local guy who mostly does work on Corvettes and did a great job on my 997. Would have loved to used Premier again but they don't do Mobile work anymore (except for dealers up in the Sac area- they did my buddies Maserati GT recently). With a very busy practice, 2 kids under 5, and another on the way in less than a week, I just couldn't find the time to make it down to Fremont. It would be an all day thing.

Thanks for the plug! Actually we currently have plans of expanding further to Sacramento. Glad to hear that your practice is doing well.

Does anyone have a picture of a Black (basalt) car with the 3M film on the full hood ? My installer here on the east coast pretty much only uses 3M so if I don't like the orange peel look I may have to find another installer but I know he does real quality work so would like to go with him.

It had to do with your driving and road condition, if lots of stones on the road, you will need a full hood coverage (it's not that much more any way). I used to do Sunday Morning Drive and follows closely to other cars, definitely need full protection, else will need to repaint car every week !!

My M3 is half

My carrera is full

I definitely recommend full. Much less noticeable and when I traded in my Boxster, which had a half clear bra there were about 12 chips above the bra line.

Do the A-pillars while you're at it. Have the film line stop level with the roof rack flap and no one will ever even notice it.
