Opinions on Full hood or half hood clear bra

Taking delivery of my C4S Cab in about a month and lining up my clear bra but cannot seem to decide on whether to go full hood or half hood coverage ? My current car, BMW 330 CiC has tons of rock chips well up onto the hood so thinking maybe full coverage is better. The C4S will be Basalt Black and my installer uses 3M bras. Appreciate any input. Thanks
Neil

I just had full done, as I have had chips way back. My installer could have done a better job, waiting to see what they can do to rectify problem. So I think make sure installer can work with the very large sheets.

all comes down to what your needs are. Most of our customers choose to go with a full hood wrap over partial. Benefits:

1. easier to wash / wax
2. no unsightly line
3. no dirt line

Here is an example of a car we fully wrapped: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...wrap-enzo.html

Not a film lover here, but if I had to do it, full only. No way I could live with that line without meds.

just went down to look at the hood of our rolex winning car(also wrapped by rob @ proform) and only have is done... not noticing many chips above the line in the hood. My personal cars are only done half way and it doesnt bother me.

I have half hood done on my BLK on BLK and it looks great. Your car is balsat BLK which is a great color but it is a metalic paint which is very hard to have touched up if you get a chip so a full hood might be right for you.. As everyone always says, its all about the install!!! Keep in mind as it is a black car and no mater how careful you are cleaning the clear bra, you will see swirls on the film in the light, the 3m film which I have can have scratches buffed out, but it is a pain sometimes.

I have / had 4 Porsches: 964, 987S, 997S, and 997GT3. Not one has had a stone chip above say the first 1/3. I've had window and mirror hits, but somehow debris is either going to hit the first third or go all the way up to the windshield. When my 2009 C2S arrives, I'll once again get the "partial" treatment.

We have half hood on the CaymanS (and clear bra all over the place on that car) and I don't care for it because of the line and the different sheen.

On my 997S I have clear bra on the bumper only which I later realized is stupid since its not a big deal to remove the bumper and repair/respray it. But in nearly 30k miles all year (salt "rocks" through winter) with lots of sand/gravel banging around on my car, I have very few marks (black car). I do make sure it has a good coat of Klasse AOI and polish/sealer but of course nothing can stop a rock with ill intent.

If I had it to do over again, I would skip the clear bra.

I would do full hood and fenders just to avoid "the line" . I have not done my car and can list many reasons why I chose not to . I get peer pressure on it. If track the car I will have to do it but I am not thrilled about it . I do not drive the car daily though and roads in my area are decent on the low volume traffic days which I try to drive it the most.

as posted earlier, this is what the installation would look like if full panel is covered:

Thanks for all the responses, I guess I am leaning toward the full hood after reading the opinions. A few hundred more bucks seems worth it

My opin that the 3M product is not nec the ideal for every car, but that aside.....Basalt Black (and the 330 peppered..the roads you must drive).....cover the whole car.

Full hood and fenders... dont use 3M (orange peel on blac is VERY noticable). Thats my advice...
