Alignment b/f first DE event?

I'm going to my first full-day DE with track time in a few weeks. Do you think I should get an alignment done b/f the event?

My car is a 2007 C4S, about 6500 miles. Ive had it for three months, who knows what happened to it before that. The car seems to handle fine on the roads, so I have no reason to believe that anything is wrong with it.

Nonetheless, I was thinking of going to one of the non-dealer P-car specialists around here that does race-prep work and having them give me a bit of a "sportier" alignment first. Nothing too radical, as I don't want to wear my tires out faster, but maybe there would be some better handling to be had.

So I guess there are two questions in that:
1) Is it worth having someone tweak my (presumably factory) alignment to make it sportier?
2) If I do that, shouldn't I do it before I go to the DE?

Thanks!

PS. Everything on the car is stock - so no aftermarket suspension parts.

Factory alignments are spotty at best, and alignments fall off through use. I would get it done before. As for going more sportier then factory, that's up to you. At the very least, have them max out and even up the negative camber on both front and back, and you could run zero toe up front. Not sure about rear toe in this car. Could aim at a GT3 toe setup.

Do the alignment...that way to can get it dialed in for how you will use the car. Factory alignment get bumped around and are not exact.

Get the alignment and corner balance, otherwise you may melt your tires sooner than later.

I would do it, an alignment is something that should be done at least every two years, every year if you track your car IMO

You can't corner balance a stock 997 or 997 PASM suspension.
