Driver seat shifting a little (loose?)
thats the way i see it too!
Did anyone find a fix for this? I am experiencing this and took it to the dealer and of course I got the "no problems found". I will go again and do a test drive with them. I have it narrowed down to the left side of the seat and it makes a click sound when it shifts. Mostly during accelerating and braking. Did anyone find a resolution so I can point the dealer in the right direction?
lol! Its more of an annoyance, if there was a safety hazard I am sure the dealers would be on top of it. Unfortunately we are at their mercy. They also screwed up my memory seats so I figure I go in for two seat related warranty issues...
Anyone else? Seems like a lot of us living with this condition! :P

Mine does it, and I've been wondering what it could be. It's on the inside (right) of the bottom seat cushion. Sounds like a "cluck" and you can feel a slight shift, mainly on acceleration or hard braking. It's getting worse, so it has to be something loose. I can also duplicate the "cluck" with my hands pushing hard against the steering wheel, it sounds once, push the steering again, nothing. So, if I then lift my weight off the seat back, then sit back and push again on the steering wheel, it "clucks" again.
Been wanting to take a look down there, but it's pretty tight between the seat and the center console, as well as under the seat. My car is always in my garage, with my wife's car, so space is limited. That's my excuse to have been procrastinating....

I noticed the passenger seat in my 997.1 was a little loose. I was able to rock it front/back about a 1/4". It bothered me and I'm OCD, so I unbolted the seat to take a look. I pulled the long plastic trim piece off (raise the seat all the way and remove 3 small torx screws - 1 is visible from the outside, 2 are from the inside). I randomly checked this bolt and it was loose (T-30 if I recall). Tightened it up and voila, no more loose seat.

I purchased my 2009 C4S in 2015 with CPO. A couple of weeks after I bought it, I noticed the driver's seat rocking back and forth ever so slightly upon acceleration and braking. My initial thought was a loose bolt or something and I took it in and the dealer said the seat frame needed to be replaced. I did not question this due to it being covered by CPO, but if I was not covered I would have asked to see more detail about why they thought this due to the cost to replace.
The thread above seems to be pretty detailed description of what was done and good pics as well!

May be an answer
I had exactly the same problem with a shifting drivers seat under acceleration and braking on my 2007 987. I removed the seat and checked all the fastenings. Nothing obviously seemed loose. However on refitting the seat I noticed that the four mounting bolts that bolt the seat to the floor although being fully tightened previously had wear shine on the underside of the bolt heads and rail mounting holes where the bolts passed through. I simply added a stainless steel flat washer under the head of each bolt and tightened down. I guess that the bolts were previously tightening against the unthreaded shoulder under the heads of the bolts and although fine when new over time movement had caused wear and increasing clearance. The rails have a locating pin which fits into a hole in the floor to aid assembly at the factory and give a small degree of security. However the pin can still move within the locating hole and will not stop forward and backward movement unless the bolts are very secure.
The mod is easy to carry out. Just slide the seat back as far as it will go and remove the slide on plastic rail covers. Undo the two front bolts and slip a washer under each, tighten and replace the covers. Slide the seat forward and the bolts will be exposed. Fit washers and tighten. Job done.
When the dealer fits a new seat assembly they probably replace the worn bolts as well, rectifying the fault.
A few minutes and some cheap washers may save a great deal of time and money and cure the problem!

Loose seat fixed
Hi there,
I had this exact issue with the driver seat.
I have just bought a racing green F56 2016 with 30k km, and got really annoyed by this tini tiny movement of the seat when you hard break/throttle.
So I decided to remove the seat and check what was going on. Here how to proceed:
1. Disconnect your battery
2. Wait 15 min
3. Disconnect the connector under the seat (followinf these 3 steps will avoid setting off an airbag light on the dash)
4. Remove the 4 bolts that keep the rails-seat in place
5. Remove your seat from the car
6. Now you will need to put the seat upside down and look for the 4 little bolts that go in between the rails, attaching the rail system to the seat
7. Once you found them, make sure they are all tight. One of mines was loose, causing the problem with my seat.
8. Place your seat back in the car
9. Do the 4 bolts again and you are all set.
10. Go and enjoy your Mini

Same problem - replaced seat under Porsche warranty
Had exactly the same issue last year on a 2010 C2 with Porsche extended warranty.
Initially Porsche Australia (PA) would not accept as warranty issue - classified it as an "acoustic" defect which is not covered under warranty. A bit rich! Then they tried wear and tear on a 30,000 km (15,000 mile) car.
Pushed the issue with them including the following (extract from my letter to PA)
From what I could tell it was the bushes used to tilt seat up and down that have worn prematurely and allowed excessive play. Not the main fixing to body work or rails - in my case anyway. Unfortunately changing these bushes doesn't appear to be an easy fix
If you have Porsche extended warranty keep on pushing the issue. Good luck.

"The operational functionality of the seat is to keep occupants firmly placed in the seat without the
driver experiencing a rocking sensation under hard braking and acceleration. This excessive
movement (which can be felt & heard by physically manhandling the seat base (clearly the forces
associated with hard braking and acceleration are many times greater than this)), does not fulfil the
functional requirements of the seat. Nor is it a pleasant experience or one that I would associate with
a premium sports car brand."
They eventually changed the seat (lower "bottom" part (excuse my pun)) which had to be specially built by the seat sub-supplier (no stock); local Porsche dealer transferred upholstery and motors to new base.
