Thoughts on this car?

Looks like 2 clutches have been put in. And spoilers? Says no accidents but body shops don't often report to carfax.

Wanted some opinions of folks that have seen weird things before. Thanks

Further details: supposedly this dealer bought the car from Porsche and it was a corporate vehicle in Atlanta. Dealer replaced clutch and charged it to this car. The second clutch notation on the carfax was them charging it back to the car. So according to dealer, only 1 clutch. Supposedly owned by a doc that traded for a Turbo.

If this car had been voluntarily bought back by Porsche and not lemoned the title would be clear. I think this is a pass for me, but they'll pull a DME to see how things look.

Thanks

I agree. Even though Targas are rare to many questions.

The more thinking I do, a preowned Turbo is looking better and better.

Thanks

You could ask them to Certify this car, and that should cover you off for a quite a while.

On Porsche's Clutch's are like brakes, I call them consumables, as they will wear out sooner then most people expect.

Dealer confirmed that the could CPO. They need to figure date in service out to give me the total coverage with CPO warranty.

Having had a VW Touareg bought back by VW and seeing how things worked out with a clean title for the next buyer I'm suspicious more than I should be I guess.

It'll be intersting what the DME ignition numbers show.

You're close by - drive over, meet the dealer and more importantly, see and drive the car - don't rely just on the "paper" and telephone calls. Good luck.

Definitely not a far drive but since the car is supposedly pristine, I will likely find a pristine looking car. It's the stuff I can't see that I'm concerned about.

I'll wait for more details from the dealer and probably take a trip and drive the Targa.

Thanks

If the dealer can/will certify, then it's not a buy-back like your Touareg was. Typically buy-backs can't (shouldn't?) be sold with clean titles and Porsche would never allow these vehicles to be CPO'd.

I've lemoned two cars and both have been classified as "buy-backs" with this information showing up on all future carfax reports.

FWIW, love the interior two tone (I'd get black mats though) and the fact that it is a very rare find as a Targa 4S

I don't like this at all . Walk .
Too many inconsistencies where the written does not correlate with the verbal.

Plus they are asking 70K .

My dealership has two 08 leftover C4S cars that are NEW. An atlas and white . Plus there many CPO cars out there that don't have these questions . Find one.

From the DME scan:
1-6207
2-748
3-27
4-0
5-0
6-0
Hours: 487.2

I'm going to go next weekend to check it out, but from my limited knowledge, I think the DME information look good.

Further thoughts?

Thanks

Interesting perspective.

What does the Porsche new car and CPO warranty cover in this regard?
