A V1 and using common sense would likely have avoided his problems.

I am sure most of us speed but with caution.

Too bad he took the rap (no pun intended).

Nothing wrong with the 3 series now that I'm aware of, but no one is going to be able to put a passenger and presumably luggage in a 335i and run it along at 250kph.
come to Germany, stuff your luggage in my trunk, sit in my car and we will go to the speed limiter at 260 kp/h as often as you want to do it.
And guess what....without Vmax limit I am going considerably faster....

I don`t want to praise my car as a special car,but pretty much any 6 cylinder German car can hit the limiter with passengers on board easily..
Lol....after all,why else should we then still have the Autobahn and its laws?

The new M3, especially with the dual clutch (DCT) option, is highly problematic, and many of these problems don't seem to have solutions.
Sorry, didn't know it, probably since I have zero interest in BMW ............Hell, even Rahal/Letterman can't get them to run.

Andre 3000 is hardly some gangsta with more dollars than sense... I mean, the guy started playing Violin in an Orchestra, not gang banging in south central.

What a stupid almost racist thread title, if this was Bill Gates that got caught would you be saying the same thing? If going over the speed limit is a trait of someone with no sense, then there are alot of senseless idiots on this forum.....me included

If you've never driven your 911 over 100mph, than you shouldn't even own that car. As long as you're not putting anyone in danger, there is nothing wrong with driving 100mph+ on empty stretches of highway for a short time. I am personally more scared of a senior citizen driving his buick at 35mph than of an enthusiast driving his 911 over 100mph. Some places in the world (germany, australia, etc) don't even have speed limits on certain highways and have less accidents than the US.

I agree, that **** scares the crap out of me. I don't know if that buick will turn left or right at any moment. The porsche was built in the land of the autobahn. As long as it's not dangerous, i say go for it.

Oh good grief. A 335 will do 155 all day with a passenger and luggage. I can tell you that I spent at least 5 hours @ 130-140mph in my wife's new E90 last June in southern Germany, effortlessly.

Porsches are great cars, but jeesh, does liking/owning one REALLY mandate ignorance and hatred for all other (esp. German) cars?

As for the thread topic - BFD. Is 109 all he did? I LOVE driving fast, and when I decide it's safe (and I can get away with it), I do it.

Funny, most bmw fanboys seem to have this exact sentiment for non-bmw cars. Good to hear that not all of you do! We don't either!

If the road conditions allow (i.e. no one else on it) -- who cares how fast someone else drives? I call it civil disobedience.

109 mph is slow. 150 mph is another story
