For those of you that have experience with upholstery, would it be hard to wrap the plastic center ring on the sport wheel, like on the rinspeed indy?

As long as it doesn't interfere with the airbag deployment, an experienced upholstery shop should be able to accomplish that look.

 

I'd be surprised if any shop would mess with the airbag center. They'd either be worried about unexpected deployment, or liability issues. That center cover is very specifically designed for the deployment, so any change could compromise it.

 

I'm not talking about the center, just the plastic ring like in the picture.
