Enquiring minds doncha know.
(oh and sorry for the hijack)

You're not going to hurt the engine, but the ECU is going to record a helluva lot of ignitions in range 1.

Absolutely right. And range 1/2 ignitions are confirmed safe by Porshce, the stealers and won't hurt the car, extended warranty or anything else, thankfully.

DJS - Always make sure there's oil and coolant in there, let it warm up thoroughly then drive it like you stole it. Enjoy!

I've found that my car shifts smoothest around 3k-4k RPM during normal driving. In my previous cars, shifts in this range were only done when driving aggressively. The car definately revs a little higher than most and seems to need/want to be driven that way.

Thanks everyone.

I feel better getting a little advice. Now--off to the road!
