clear coated? I have black ones with the chrome outside lip in Chrome. I want to use my Pinacle Aluminum Polish but it says not for clear coated wheel.

I assume you're talking about the outer lips. We don't normally offer chrome for our Competition Series outers. They are most likely polished or polished/clearcoated. If they are clearcoated you don't want to use the polish as it will dull the clearcoat. You should be able to get them clean as new with soap and water. If they are just polished without clearcoat then the aluminum polish is what you need and we recommend one of the polishing ***** you attach to a drill.
The way to tell if the outers are polished vs. polished and clearcoated is to clean them and then lightly apply a tiny bit of polish in a small area by hand with a clean light colored rag. If after some light rubbing, if you see the rag starting to turn black, then you have full polish without the clearcoat. What you're seeing is some of the oxidized aluminum coming off on the rag and the spot should be noticably shinier. If the rag stays the same color and the rims stays the same then you most likely have clearcoat.
If for some reason you actually have chrome outers then soap and water is best but the aluminum polish should clean them but isn't recommended as it really doesn't do much. It can scratch them but it is unlikely. Chrome is pretty hard so the polish usually doesn't do anything and it is just a big waste of effort.
