My first post and Porsche - Introduction
Oh man congrats!!!
This thread hits home for two reasons.
1. My first Porsche (other than my Cayenne S) was an 06 997 S
2. I was just at TechArt headquarters last week in Germany
SICK CAR and welcome. You will love it once you get it down - then your gonna be addicted like me and want one of each

You guys are great...thanks for all the compliments!
Here's a pic of the interior...the roof, the dash, the lower doors, the PCM, shift boot, and the seats are are custom done, double-stitched. Now it's time for an alcantara GT3 steering wheel!

Thanks again, all!
I look forward to dealing with the sponsors here as well; I'm eyeing (sp?) the TPC positive displacement supercharger (no more centrifugal for me!) and the twin turbo conversion...
Take care,
Cliff

Danke!
BAD NEWS, but good news:
Yesterday I had my car at a shop here in Dallas getting it inspected. While test driving it, the oil light came on and the motor almost died, forcing the driver to the side of the road where it did eventually die. It seized up and can't be started...it won't turn over.
The car did have oil in it, and they later drained it to look for debris, but didn't really find anything. They've heard about some o-ring inside the motor somewhere that has been known to losen, but they're not for sure that's what happened with mine. Has anyone heard of this?
The good news is that now I'm getting my engine replaced. Would now be the time to install a TPC positive displacement supercharger???
Thanks,
Cliff

I assume you're replacing it with a new motor under warranty? I'd break the new motor in before forced induction. It sucks to be without your newly purchased 997 I'm sure but the upside is now you'll know the complete service history of this motor. Sorry about the headache.
Thank you, and good point about the break in with forced induction. Yep, a new motor either under warranty or under the shop's liability policy.
Thanks again for the advice,
Cliff
