Cost to install Mobridge combo unit?

My dealer referred me to a local audio installer who recommends the Mobridge combo unit (iPod and Bluetooth) over the Dension and the NavTV units. He's suggesting around 1300 fitted for the Mobridge combo - does that sound about right? Anyone got any experience with these?

I had the same mobridge unit installed in Atlanta a year ago and I believe the labor cost was $300. Out the door was $1100. It is a great unit and I haven't had any trouble. I would advise to have it installed where you have easy access to the unit because you will eventually have to upgrade the firmware (unless you can do this by BT on the newer units). I had to remove the center console and the stereo/nav monitor just so I could get to the sim card slot. Not a real big deal, but it would probably be better to mount it in the trunk.

Thanks! Appreciate the reply and the advice on where to install.

Mine was installed by the dealer before I bought the car but after I got it the unit was swapped out completely under warranty. As it was located in the passenger side footwell it was an 10 minute job - so I agree with Bobby!

It's been great ever since.

I got the mObridge combo unit in my 997 C2 last week. I'm happy with the BT (paired with 3G iPhone) but the ipod sound is lousy compared to FM radio and the remaining CD slot. In particular, the volume balance with ipod is too low. I've maxed the volume on the ipod but that hasn't helped.

Any ideas how to bring the volume level up on the ipod?

mhh, the mObridge uses the iPod's line out so changing the volume isn't going to help. It's more likely than not an install issue. If I were you I'd just ping mObridge support. I had a few questions on mine and Scott is super quick to reply and is really helpful. The email address is support@mobridge-usa.com. Scott can probably give you a few pointers to take up with your installer. One other thing is to try it with a different iPod so you can isolate the issue to the unit or the iPod.
Good luck!
