The Official 6SpeedOnline 997 Owners Picture Thread!
This is a 2006 997 S Cabrio...
I owned a number of muscle cars, my trade in for this Porsche was a fully loaded, track package 2013 SHELBY GT500 (which I really loved it)...
The reason for trading it in was to save some money and pay-off an account! did it and luckily got enough money left from my GT to get this very new (11665 miles 997S).
The drive: the Porsche is a TOTALLY DIFFERENT ride, I truly state that the GT500 cannot beat this 911 in handling, comfort, pleasure and feelings...
The Porsche gives you a safety sensation when driving, still got great power, in fact I am surprised that the 997S has so much power output, really, it is a fun ride.
Moreover, the 997S has a distinctive sound that really is not comparable with any muscle car I owned.
Loved the 2013 GT500, but the power is a bit too CRAZY...you really have a beast in your hands and you need to be ahead of it at all times, otherwise you will loose the car very quickly...it is a serious STRAIGHT LINE CAR, not for curves nor wet roads!
Porsche rules, and I think it is addictive, since only 4 days of ownership and I am making plans to become a loyal Porsche owner...
By the way, just joined the PCA member!
Thanks everyone...

Congrats, and welcome to the Porsche world. I love my 06 C2S cab too, after over 3 years of ownership and 27,000 miles since purchase. It seems to get better every day.

this was similar to my "Porsche conversion", except I was into making very fast japanese turbo charged cars. Crazy fast in a straight line and ok in the curves, but NOTHING compared to my first drive in a Porsche through the canyons. My whole idea of what cars should handle like changed after one day of driving through the Malibu canyons in a Porsche. At that moment being the king of speed didn't matter anymore. Being a king and hero in the curves and canyons was where it was really at. That was 14 yrs ago and I have never looked back. The joy and connection you feel with Porsches while driving never gets old! Welcome to the club!
