2006 997 C2 Purchase Advice

I'm planning on purchasing a 2006 997 C2 within a few days.
Arctic Sliver with grey interior.
I pretty basic C2.
S wheels, sport chrono, power seats, bi-xenon.
We've settled on $44,000.
28K miles, one owner (approx 55 y/o with no kids).
I've been looking for a 997 for a while, and this one is pretty clean inside and out (9-9.5/10).
One thing stood out...there is a 1.5 inch vertical crack along with another little crack on the driver side front bumper.
Owner didn't have an excuse for it. But he claims that the car has not been in any accidents and never raced.
Clean (almost too clean) Carfax (2 details).
He has 3 receipts for service, 20K service, A/C, tire (slow leak).
Warranty began 10/14/2005
Clean Title.
Pre-purchase inspection is this Thursday.
Am I getting a good deal?
Any advice or recommendations?
Thanks,
DL

1) Make sure the rear tires have tread . Replacing them is expensive.
2) Do a DME scan to detect engine over rev history .
3) Take a picture of the crack on the bumper and post it . Then I can give a better opinion .

Price sounds fair to partly cloudy . CPO is the way to go with these kind of miles and a cosmetic issue nearing warranty end.

In my opinion, I would keep looking. There are plenty of them out there. Do a search on Cars.com Just saw a similar car, less miles plus is has the GT3 front and rear bumpers. Also, just about all on this site including myself, are going to recommend you look for an S or a 4S.

I've had a few scrapes on my driveway and local speed bumps and never seemed to have a crack. It could be somewhat innocent such as pulling in a little too far and the parking block got it.

Tough call. It's a buyer's market. Any other examples that you like just as much?

Owner age is a plus. If I can help it I'll never buy from a kid.

Here's my '06 997.
Got it checked out at McKenna and the PPI was perfect.
Seller sweetened the deal, so I took it.

Congratulations!! Good to hear the car checked out and passed, as you said. Peace of mind is worth it.

Got clears and the RMS was replaced.

Had some clears put in at McKenna while getting some warranty work done.
Is having the RMS replaced at 27000 miles a good thing or a bad thing?

RMS isn't exactly a good thing right out of the gate but if fixed properly it ought to be ok and make sure you retain the paperwork and inspect it before the car goes off warranty .
