I posted on here to get some advice towards a purchase of a used 06 Carrera S. You guys helped out and told me some stuff to consider and to ask for, plus the real price to pay, which ultimately I was able to work out with the dealer.
The DME scan and car check up came back fine. Car is in great condition. 8200 miles. Under warranty for another 1.5 years (ends in Aug) and will have extended warranty through a third party, rather then CPO after meeting with the local dealership and getting their advice on cost to add CPO to this car. Made more sense to add third party and the delearship nearby uses on a regular basis and actually sells.
I am looking forward to learning a lot more about the car, but it already has some nice aftermarket mods, including Intake, H&R springs, Fabspeed Exhaust and Techart Kit.

Great car. Can I ask what the price started at and what did you end up paying? I'm looking for something similar and pricing seems to be in the mid $60K's for something similar.
Thanks in advance.

I looked online (cars.com, carmax, autotrader, etc.) plus also spent some time at porsche.com going through their pre-owned inventory. I spent about 3 months looking to find something that I would really enjoy owning and would not have to do much to for it to be at the level I wanted. The car is in great condition. It is three years old and definitely has some wear but nothing too excessive. I am really diligent about dealing my cars, so it will need a serious cleaning to my standards, other then that, I think the car is in great condition.
Joe, I am a new member here, not enough post counts to send a follow up PM just yet. Here is the response to your PM you sent. When I get my post count to 15, I will PM the other details you asked for.

Yes I did. Thank you. After getting to SEE the car for the first time and getting an idea of how good condition it was in, made me realize that the tad bit higher asking price was worth it. The intake, exhaust, suspension, Techart kit were literally all just done within the last 6-8 months. They provided receipts and paperwork for all of it. Best part, all the installs, every single one of them, done by a Porsche dealership. Having the paperwork to show that, would help should they every come back to say that it was not installed right or whatever.
I meet the service guys at the Porsche dealership by my house and they were already familiar with the car. They told me it was not necessary to get another pre-purchase inspection done as they just did one 60 miles earlier, which is when the private dealership who was selling the car had it first checked out. Those 60 or so miles on the car since the last inspection came at the cost of test drives and taking it to and from the dealership. Ultimately however the dealer agreed to do another inspection on the car for my own piece of mind and only charge me for the DME scan, which had not been done in the past. Level 1, 2, 3 over revs all within range, no 4, 5 or 6. Even the over revs in 1-3 were very minimal.
After speaking with the actual Porsche dealership, they even told me that if there was anything in a level 4, that would not mean that Porsche would not warranty a repair, but he understood my concern. He was even willing to give me the pre-purchase inspection back had a level 4 been on the report stating this should not cause a void of warranty. I thought that was pretty awesome. Luckily, I did not have to go that route.
In addition, because this dealership was familiar with the car and were genuinely trying to help me with making my first purchase like this, they were the ones to bring up the service records for all the work done by the other dealership, to confirm that the aftermarket modifications were done by Porsche. All of which put a lot of ease in my mind I was making the right decision.
Lastly, seeing the invoices for all the work added to the car adding up over $10k, including the paint and mount of the kit, install of the suspension and exhaust, also made me feel more comfortable that the asking price was reasonable. I will say this. I paid below the FMV for this car and the private dealership I was working with could have easily tried to sell this car for more the I paid, but I think with the economy doing as it is and wanting to move some sales, they worked with me on the price.
I am content at this point with the purchase and I cannot wait to get it all cleaned up this weekend to my standards. I am sure I will post up some more pictures when I am done.

Here's some free advice: watch that front lip. With the techart add-on, and the lowering springs, you're really going to want to be cautious going down steeps and approaching curbs.
Beautiful car!

beautiful car, glad to hear you got everything you wanted in the deal. Sounds like you made a great choice and the mods are great to begin with, now for the interior, center console exterior color??? LOL
