They came back with $1,490 tax included - I went ahead an easily passed.

This brings me back to yrralis' thread a few days ago about "What the dealerships just don't understand"

They really don't get it, do they? Not sure how they can remain viable in today's market when everyone is looking to move vehicles for great deals and these guys are just stuck in the past?

I almost feel bad for them.

Whoever is running that place is running it into the ground - I just don't understand how they don't see their surroundings - Southern California, Porsche dealers everywhere, all competitive, people getting great deals left and right, economy in the **** - nobody buying cars, yet alone $100k cars --- why don't we quote this customer a ridiculous price?

It's !

It's like those blind mice in the labs, they just keep running into the wall.

This one seems very similar, albeit with the Carrera S II wheels, maybe I'll check it out.

I don't get it either but I felt that way when they dropped 200 bucks from an original quote . It revealed a lot about them and don't be surprised if they call you in a few days. If they have any class they won't .

You will get the car and if enough dealerships turn you away in two years it will be worth 60K --maybe less if a 998 comes out .

I suppose they would rather have the car collect dust on the lot than have your money in their pocket .

If they keep the cars long enough, Porsche buys them or gives them the difference in price and they can sell the cars at a deeper discount...either way they get their money so they have no incentive to let it go and just hold out for a buyer or Porsche HQ.

That Auto Gallery car looks similar....check it out...ask for Eric Schwartz and he will make you a deal. He is the sales manager.
I just referred them a client of mine and they hooked her up. Asked them to swap out for the clear sidemarkers plus a bunch of goodies and they did. Plus a nice deal on the lease. She was offered a C2S coupe ($104k MSRP) for $1,389 including tax, I believe....she ultimately went for that car for 2 years, for $1,520 including tax. She preferred a shorter lease...but her 3 year price quote was great, too, I thought.
There are so many cars on the lots and for a dealer not make a deal is moronic. Literally get a couple of dealers to work against eachother on price and you will get the deal you want.

I'll probably check out Auto Gallery tomorrow, I'm sure they'll have some goodies on the lot. I'll ask for Eric, thanks JC.

You're right, for a dealer not to make a deal is beyond stupid. I know my guy there tried, he's not the manager, I've known him for many years and would have liked to give him the sale. He's a good guy; different from the usual grinning dealer. But business is business.

This is not a good thing for them. The manufaturer would much rather allocate higher volume to a dealership than try and rescue them . That's why dealerships will proudly display "we are number 1" when they are successful . It's an affirmation made not just to themselves . not just to the consumer , but to the manfacturer too letting everyone know that their participation is valued .

Yeah, I think it's very similar. I did like the Classic Wheels look on the Rusnak car but that's not a big deal.

I like that it has the extra 10mm lowered PASM (P17); includes heated seats, could use the ventilated seats (but I think they both go hand in hand, meaning one comes with the other - not sure though)

We'll see what happens tomorrow boys

I agree, after all they're running (or at least trying to run) a business. If they want to sit on cars and hold out for that sucker buyer or ultimately wait for a Porsche bailout than they should go into to the used car business, or better yet, classic collectibles where dust is part of the game.

I'm sure they get great incentives, greater volume discounts and much more from Porsche if they actually move a good amount of cars.

The PASM also has a limited slip differential is is a major plus on this car . On the 997.1 it's only on the Gt2 , Gt3 , and an option on manual Turbos .

As for wheels .. I just love the brushed Hre's on the meteor but maybe they can swap wheels at delivery to give you the classics.
