You could, but I really think it would look like a stock one painted black. I could examine them closer, but this one doesn't have inlays or anything, it's just the one piece metal.
Plus - this way you get to keep the stock one (or sell it)

Souza 911 is infamous around these parts
I just had my wheels and exhaust tips done with ceramic coating and the guys at the shop gave me some matching paint that they use for touch ups and I painted mine and think it came out nice.
