Matte black hood crest...

Does anyone know where to get a Matte black hood crest (not the silver that everyone is looking to get)? Or can I just ceramic coat mine?

Just saw one on eBay when I was searching for a chrome hood crest. Do a search for Porsche black hood crest.

Powder coat or paint not ceramic. Check with Eric at BumperPlugs - it's his specialty.

Does anyone have a picture of a black crest on a car? I am thinking about one myself.

I am actually having one made from a combination of things right now.
Going to be carbon fiber with graphite inserts and a anodized black billet ring around it.
May take a bit to make but looks promising.
Already in the works is a black graphite badge for the back decklid!

Unique Porsche 911/930/912 black hood crest. It fits all Porsches starting in 1965 to 1989. - so that the ebay one will not work on 997

Resurrecting this thread as I did a search before posting a new thread. I just bought and installed a matte black one to replace my super shiny gold one. It looked good, but not on my car. This one looks tough, which is more of the look I'm going for - let me know what you think:

and here's a shot of my garage - I couldn't resist, since I was already taking photos in there (and now posting photos here!)

Sorry for not posting the 'before' photos.

Also - seems like ppl were looking for a source for the matte black. I got mine from Sierra Madre. No affiliation. It was a great transaction, with only two comments - they recommend a gasket, but I used my old one - seemed easier, and they recommended the speed nuts, but I stupidly only ordered one, vs 2. Would have been nice to get a call saying - "you know, you really want two of these...", but - I can't really blame them I suppose. Anyway - I used one new nut and one from the previous (gold) crest. Seems like it works fine. I used a 5/6 socket, but want to find a deep one (I know it's here somewhere) so that I can make sure it's tight. I'm a bit afraid about overtightening, so I may just leave it.

Sierra Madre Collection

While it is designed for 1965 to 1989 vehicles, I pulled the posts apart a little, and it fits fine now (a little "gentle" persuasion with pliers... )
