JohnAMG is infamous around these parts
I just spoke to a tech, name Gene, from Stoddard Porsche. He said this is common and very likely the cause is moisture in the fuel. He told me to drive it and the "check engine" light should reset in 72 hours. If not by then, I will need to bring it in. Last fill up was at the Kwik-fil. Maybe I should forget buying American gas and start buying Mobil.

Not sure how far Gene's advice will take you if there are bigger problems during your 72 hours of driving. Why not just get the dealer to take care of it - at least you'll have it documented.

I guess Gene's advise actually work. In just about 72 hours(actually 68 hours) the "check engine" light went off today and hasn't return after numerous starts. The car is function normally and now I can go back to enjoy my new ride. I am going to buy a OBD II scanner tomorrow so in the future I can know the problem ahead of time. Also no more Kwik-Fil gas, only Mobil. My faith has been restore in Porsche

Glad to hear your back on the road John.

Never heard of Kwik-Fil must be a NYC thing

What do you guys think is the best gas for high performance cars? Mobile, Chevron, 76, Shell?

I'm going to say Mobile (we go up to 91 octane here in California, there's race gas somewhere but I haven't tried it)

I know different gasolines have different additives, Chevron claims their Techron cleans engines and etc.

Thoughts on the best?

Only use top-tier gas - Chevron, Shell, others in the list.
