report from a Newbie 997S
love my 997 too.. its night and day to any other car ive driven...
was doing some turns the other day and giving it more gas than usual and it stuck to the ground even more than at slower speed... just love how the engine back there and wide tires causes almost better grip at higher speeds

Congrats. Another convert. Once you drive a Porsche...you realize, you've never driven before. Biomechanical comes to mind. It's something that has to be experienced, and doesn't come across in words. Perhaps this is why every car is compared to a Porsche....even Porsche itself.
One benifit of having a car that hasn't changed much in 50+ years is that it is always in style...no matter what model year. There are those that say it is a tired style and needs a change. To those naysayers, I say look at other manufacturers who have followed this logic. No one wants the old model...everyone wants the new model. With Porsche, even the 80's models are still desirable. Find me another car manufactured in the 80's that you even want to look at. 993, 996, 997...older, newer, they are all Porsche and all coveted. Say that about any other car...give me an example. The closest you will come is some American Muscle cars in the 60's...everybody like the old ones and the current ones...but nothing in between. This is the cost of updating your style with each revision. This is why Porsche never had to go retro to get back to it's roots and what people want...it never left.

PS: Just so that my invite was clear: it wasn't for you to "drive the track" but to "drive to the track" so you can see how a track event is organized and get a ride along as a passenger...
