Dont forget that you can find a used steering wheel. I actually got mine off ebay for $180 + airbag $350 = $530.

Dont forget that you could probably buy the new one from suncoast (who happens to have the best new pricing for the wheel) and then just sell your old one on ebay for probably $500-$600 and your total out of pocket would be $300-$400 for this mod. Its totally worth it.

So something like the following..
http://www.suncoastparts.com/product/PDKPADDLE.html

(PDK steering wheel w/ paddle shifters) would work with my 06 997.1 C2 w/ tiptronic ? No modifications required?

Thanks
Jason

I've installed one in my 05 C2 tip. You'll also have to buy and install a new steering wheel controller, and then have some programming/coding done with the Porsche PIWIS computer.

I have a carbon fiber PDK multifunction and heated for sale. This will be a nice upgrade for a 997.

Hey Spudster,

can you let me know what parts I need to get in order for this to work? I noticed on an older thread you had installed the PDK but had some issues with getting them to work originally. I wanted to get the following:

http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...97GEN2PDKKnobs

Do I still need to get codes changed at the dealership?

I have an 06 997.1 tip

thanks
Jason

You'll just need to get a new steering wheel controller. Part #99761328901
I got mine here:
http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Site...901/ES1506568/

They've raised the price on it since I bought it. I saw it cheaper here:
http://www.gaudinporscheparts.com/pa...&siteid=215796

Maybe Suncoast will have it for a good price. Check with them too.

You will have to get it coded at the dealer. Hopefully your dealer or indy won't give you the run around like mine did.

I just saw this PDK steering wheel on Ebay. Looks like a good buy:
www.ebay.com/itm/111435108584

You'll need an airbag too. You can find them on Ebay for around $500.

excuse me if this has been answered many times but i couldn't find an answer....

i have a 997.1 sport steering wheel (round one no functions) and really like the look of 997.2 gt wheels (sport wheel no functions)

question is what do i need to get it to work? do i also need a harness? will my do they use the same round airbags? or do i need nothing but just the wheel?

If your car has tiptronic, then you will need the 997.2 PDK steering wheel and a new airbag for it. The airbag for the 997.1 steering wheels won't fit in the 997.2 ones. Then you need to replace the steering wheel controller, and have it coded.

You may be able to get away with just a new steering wheel and airbag. But I think I read that some guys with manual trans had a problem with their horn not working until they changed out the controller too.

Sweet looking wheel, Did you get that and just the new steering module? What year and type, and where do you plan on getting it done?
