Bad day, gets worse
take pics
Take clear and concise pics and document the work.... resale should not be as much of an issue if you have this.... just advice.
Big difference when someone says "yes paint work" then follows with an explaination why and provides pics of the damage that was repaired.... vs "yes paint work and damage was repaired, trust me it was minor".....

Well I will make all sorts of calls in the morning. Basically, it would be best if I can turn the car over to the company already doing the rear spoilers on the car. Hoping they can handle a little front end body kit fix and repaint. Sucks from a resale value, but I have no plans to sell the car anytime in the near future. They deal in all high end cars, so I feel confident they would be good. Called Ultimate Audio. Anyway, only question is if my insurance company will let me go through them. I have to work in the morning, so I need to call the insurance agent, then Porsche dealership and then Ultimate Audio.

I wonder what the requirements are for the old parts? Does anyone know? Will they give me the bad parts if I request them?

sorry to hear about your damages, but just so you are aware, the insurance company CANNOT tell you where to take your car, it is completely illegal for them to deny a claim based on the shop.
^^^ Yeah, I have learned that through this process. Now it is not the issue of where to take the car, that is all done, just if they will let me move forward with how I want to fix the car. Hopefully will wind out today or tomorrow.
The windshield replacement company just left. They started at 9:15 and it took a little under three hours to complete. Granted we were talking and so I am sure I slowed him down some. He did not seem to mind. The guys who did the install (Sanders Auto Glass) is the owner/installer. He specialized in high end cars, although also does work for Nissan, Toyota, etc.
Anyway, I am amazing that so much stuff needs to be taken off the car to get the windshield out. I would have never really thought about it, until now.
The pillar covers, all the plastic fascia from the top of the trunk area, wipers, rain sensor, rearview mirror, clips and so forth. He did a good job making sure to be as careful as possible and was very understanding when I asked him to NOT clean up after himself. I explained, no offense, but I would much rather use my towels and cleaners. He was very understanding about it.
I have never needed to have a windshield replaced before where I was able to watch it being done, so it was very informative and very interesting to watch how it all takes place. I think the two most worrisome moments were when he started to screw in the two bottom windshield holding brackets that the factory does not leave in the car and then when he busted out a the big sawzall tool that was modified with a spatular looking end to break free the bottom part of the window. Otherwise, it seemed par for the course. I really hope to never need this done again in the future. It was painful enough watching it this time around. Lets hope that everything cures correctly and that no leaks or whistling noises comes from the replacement. Alright, well first part done, up next I hope that I will be taking it into the body shop. I hope they call me today with an update.

Time for an update. I am not really sure where to begin. First, they did a good job on the front aerokit, paint and install. I have the old Techart front lip available for sale for $500. It needs a little TLC, but it is a $1400 lip, so I am thinking someone might want it.
Anyway, for the side skirt on the drivers side, I was none to impressed. I am having to take the car back as they actually made it worse, then better. Kind of annoyed. Also, while the car was in the shop (they claim the did not touch it), the other side skirt is now miraculously coming loose from the car and needs to be put back on. I am struggling with this and am taking things into my own hands to fix that side. I might not even take it back to the shop and do the drivers side myself as well. For now I am just waiting to see what the manager of the shop says once I speak with him tomorrow. He was not there when I left today. They did say that they would redo it for me, but do I really want to trust them, something they are billing insurance for BTW, to redo the work they should have done right the first time? IDK.
Of course to add insult to injury, I scraped the new lip on the drive home. I knew it would happen, just would have been nice to have it one day perfect.
I will get new pictures posted once I get all this little BS taken care of and get the car cleaned, it is disgustingly dirty right now. Damn Florida Rain.
