Thank you all for the warm welcome. It's good to finally be a member of the Porsche family.

I am really liking this car more than my AMGs, I've logged over 500 miles in less than 1 week and I cant stop driving it. Do you guys observe the break in period like the dealership recommends?

I did. Kept it below 4k rpm until 2k miles. I may have gone around 4400 rpm, but only a couple times. I've got around 2400 miles now, and still haven't hit 6k rpm. I've always waited until the water temp was up until I drive regularly...but this forum has tought me to watch for the oil temp as well...wish I would have watched that during break in - hope I didn't hurt anything. I figure, one of the reasons I bought a new car was that you never know how a used one was broken in...such an expensive car not to do it right. There will be plenty of time for power...

Congrats!

GT silver is a great colour on the new 997; was not a big fan of the reflector strip when I first saw it. But now I love it, looks way better than without it.

Clear side markers are on order, I not doing tint on this car and Im still observing my 2K break in period. However, I occasionally ripped her past 6K RPM.

First mod below.

That's the best mod! I have two little ones and they love "going fast" with daddy ... much to their mother's chagrin!

Where and how much for the kids car seat? I'm sure you can get it from Porsche but I'm just as sure it's a rip $$$. Wondering if there's a cheaper source out there anyone might know?

My daughter is 6 so she gets to ride in the porsche a couple times sans car seat, but my poor son (who is obsessed with cars) is only 2 and a half and no standard car seat ever made seems to fit in the back seat. I would love to be able to take him on spirited drives in the Porsche. But if it's anything over $200 the kid's just gonna have to grow up faster

I got it from my Porsche dealership and I paid $560 plus tax. My son is only 1yr old and he loves to go out driving with Daddy.

Shuffles - check out this thread, and scroll to my posts for details on the type of car seats that will fit back there and pictures.
