I would add LSD - a performance option.
A+ :Look at option P17 which includes the LSD

Nice write up...good to see someone like me like PDK. I too get sick of the people around here that flame PDK but have never really given it a chance.

You did mention that you did not think PDK with SC+ engauged shifted lightning fast. I do not find it that way in my car. On the track I find PDK will shift instant like when I am shifting manually with SC+ engauged.

I'm not one the flame the PDK, because I think it's amazing piece of automotive technology and is a good option for Porsche buyers. I'm just flaming some drivers who claim it's just as hard or requries equally the same amount of skill to drive on the track as a traditional manual. I've had seat time in both the sequential shifters and manuals, and by far it's so much easier to drive a "semi-automatic" than a manual. I can focus on all the other details of driving because I have one less factor to worry about - making sure I'm in the right gear before the turn and making sure I'm rev matched properly to prevent that dreaded wheel lock and eventually losing traction.

Again, not flaming the PDK. I just don't understand why some people get all bent out of shape if someone mentions that PDK is easier to drive than a manual

I am curious...why were the tires a little worn? I am thinking all the 997.2 PDK's are more or less new off the lot...

Not that it is any of my business....but this is a car forum...

I agree with GreggT. A manual transmission provides more involvement with a sports car and therefore you have more fun! Shifting gears fast is great for racing but for me, I like to hold in the clutch a little longer at times during a shift for variety and fun. And to hear the engine / exhaust "pause" a bit.

It had 19000Km on the clock and was the car used for the press and clients test drves, including some days at the track. It felt very solid and robust.

There's a lot of flaming about PDK because unlike previous "automatics" this one is faster than a manual. The argument for the manual has now shifted toward "involvement". Frankly I don't care what someone choses for himself/herself. Porsche offers PDK which is an order a of magnitude better than the Tiptronic, and the manual soldiers on for those who prefer it. Take your pick and go enjoy the car. As far as this business about "pure" sports cars demanding a manual transmission is concerned, that nonsense died w/ electric windows, airbags, ABS, PSM, and A/C, not to mention bluetooth, iPod, and navigation.

I'm not going to touch the PDK issue. It's been beaten to death. But the sportchrono and the sports suspension (that lowers the car is a must) As is:
LSD, BlueTooth (a must in CA), GPS (my sense of direction is challenged and likely helps resale), and the self-dimming mirror (silly, buy my car doesn't have it and it's very annoying);
I would not get power seats nor Bose (in a Cab, it's a waste). Then add a SmartTop as soon as possible.
Oh, and as you can tell from my av, I like the white one.
GL with the car.

Love the color; but, the 6 speed is so much more fun to me! I like to drive the car, not the other way around. Personal preference only.

For me personally, the act of total control of the 6 speed is where its at. If I want an auto, semi-auto, or "self-driver", I'll just drive my SUV. That's my 2 cents.

It's always interesting to observe the number of PDK naysayers when somebody like the OP, posts a positive PDK review. Guys... it's optional! Pick what you like, but do not put down others' choices. Or is it... that bothers you that PDK is so good?
