Hello, I have been lurking on this forum for a while now learning so much from you guys.

I have recently sold my car and I'm in a market for 06-08 Carrera S. I've read somewhere that the only difference between the 05 and 06 is the TPMS. Does anyone know what the difference is between 06-08 MY Carrera S?

I've not heard of any. There may be some recalls, etc. Any older MY, if serviced, would have these addressed whereas the recalls would be built in to a newer MY. Just my thoughts. Good luck...hunting is fun.

I have an '06 (that is for sale, btw). '07s started coming with TPMS as standard. What came standard in '06 was the ability to read and play mp3 discs in the cd player. Other than that, no difference in standard options between 05 vs 06. i'm not sure on the 06 vs 08 though

 

The difference between an 06 and an 08 is about 15 grand , two extra years of warranty, and a few techno tweaks .

An 08 is looking attractive unless that 15K throws you for a loop.

06 and newer have auto weight sensing passenger front air bag deactivation. Alsosome colours were added and others were discontinued (for example Seal Gray was 05 + 06 only).

The nav was updated and I the CD player could read Mp3 discs on 08 cars . The 05 car could not and I think the 06 was the same as the 05.

 

Each year (06-08) the 997.1 had a variety of relatively minor cosmetic, safety, and supposedly quality improvements - enough that the curb weight changed a little each MY. Wish I could remember and give you the specific answers you asked for. I have an 06 and have driven (but not tracked) 05's and 08's - "blindfolded" I couldn't tell the difference.

 

on my 07, the passenger window would not auto up/down with a single click. On the 08 it does. Not sure if that's an improvement or if my 07 had an issue I never got resolved!
