What makes the .2 "S" so freakin' fast?
Call Sara and see if she'll break out the scales. I don't know where else you can weigh it.
As far as drag racing... Are you out of your mind? My 6speed vs your PDK with launch control... I can already tell you how that would turn out
We could find a nice quiet place to do a couple rolls though.

If I'm getting a Challenger, you should sell your antique and get a 10 speed.
If I remember right Mr. "I'm getting moved up to the yellow class next time", the last we drove together I got a point by from you before the safety pin and never saw you again for the rest of the session. Not bad for a guy in a 996 who doesn't know how to turn left or right

Oh and if I remember correctly...The Greek's "bone stock" 997S caught you on the front straight and smoked you after the carousel way before the hairpin...it may not be too late to get a refund on that supercharger....

Blah, blah, blah......let's see, 420hp in a 2002 and 187hp in a 1988...I hope to God you would be able to pass me in a straight line...but I think the reason you never saw me again was due to your brakes failing and having to go to the pits again...at least my antique will hold together and allow me to move up to yellow...

Actually, you don't remember it correctly. The Greek was chasing me for a while before he caught up. I didn't even know he was back there until we went into 17. I did eventually give him the point by on the short straight before the safety pin. I definitely could not out horsepower him on either of the straights though. Or on the highway for that matter.
He can drive and the car is fast. Not to mention he's 27 and a maniac... Rather than turn it into a testosterone fueled pissing match, I decided to let him go by. It was the right thing to do. I already had my one pass for the day. I wasn't looking to get sent home with one more session left in the day.
I'll be the first one to admit that his stock 997S is better right out of the box than my modded 996. The new 997.2 is an amazing car. I was impressed when I drove a PDKS six months ago. I'm more impressed now! The only reason I don't have one now is that when I spec'd one out for myself I decided that the "paid for" 996 was a better value than the $135K C4S cab I had my eye on
Money not being an obstacle, I'd buy one. Porsche really got it right on this one.
Are you talking about the time we left our clutches for dead at the stop light?

I don't think we ever got play around when you got the GT3 and I was too much of pansy to go do DE's back then. Although I'm convinced your GT3 would have whipped up on me bad. I wasn't so worried about your air head
Yep, that time in my lil old air cooled stock ish 993.
The GT3 would have been faster on the track. From a roll on you would have pulled me up top. (Just like you should be pulling on Nick up top).
I have driven both your car and the 997.2 S, and while it is a fantastic car, I still think your car is faster.

I may run it in for a quick dyno today and see what happens. Awful weather for it since it's in a non AC'd facility, but it would interesting to see if it's still making the power it should. I haven't dyno'd it since I did the plenum but that was maybe a year or so ago. I'm not even sure where that chart is...
The vast majority of trackers couldn't drive their cars at the limit around a track even if their cars had half the power that they do. They try to compensate for their lack of skill and make up time by driving AWD cars, different rubber, adding more power for the straights, etc, and never learn how to properly navigate the turns. They hit the turns at half of the speed the car is capable of and then sprint down the straights to make up time.
A tracker should fear a good driver in a slow car before fearing a novice driver in a fast car.
Tracking is all about the ability of the driver and not the car. If you can't drive your car to the limit to begin with, why add more power? The only competition you should have is yourself. Focus on personal time improvements and not catching the car that just passed you up.

For me it is about having fun, learning about myself and my car. Going fast, and if I manage to get a point by from another car, I take it in search of more open track

Here, here! I concur with everything you said...

I think Dog should change his call sign to "Straights"...
