Introducing the NEW Werks One Composites 997.2 Rear Diffuser
Exactly why I posted what I did. However all the race car diffusers I have seen on ALMS cars have 1 peice very thin and sharp fins and multi-layered...very different than the diffuser shown on this thread.
diffuser design aside as i'm not an aero-dynamicist nor a CFD technician, there are obvious benefits to a flat bottom. Removing the baffling that the open compartments cause would be a benefit.
And again, where is this for a the .1's? Since removing the rear mufflers the rear of the car seems like a big parachute. Great idea.

I am sure that with a little modding you could make it work! Do I sense a DIY thread coming from you?
Just to answer a few questions. The rear diffuser will have heat protection on the interior side of it to protect it from the center muffler. The part is not purely cosmetic, and is 100% functional. Below are some images of our Turbo diffuser in the wind tunnel which shares a similar design. The picture was taken in 35-45 mph winds. We were not allowed inside the wind tunnel at any higher wind speeds.
I agree with you
just one thing, it looks kind of weird without any bodykit on the car, it kinda stands out too much...

***UPDATE***
Due to demand, there will be a carbon rear diffuser produced for the 997.1 model vehicles. Pictures will be posted as soon as possible in a new thread. Please stay tuned for further updates.
