There are 16 different combinations and dealers have a case with all of them. They will find yours and order it for you. Me personally I live and park in a very good neighborhood and I took mine off and replaced it with regular lugs.

+1, the lock bolts are a PIA. Besides, if someone really wants the wheels, they will get them.

You should get the replacement key to remove the locks or you run the chance of ruining your rims trying to get the wheel lock out. Besides the lock will cost less than the labor doing it the other way. After that you can replace the locks with regular bolts if you like but wills till have the locks if you sell the car and new owner wants them.

removing the locks is pretty easy. they just use a slightly larger socket ligned with a thin towel and an impact wrench. comes of like bara. the porsche dealer is 30 miles away so im trying to avoid going and i already have an extra set of factory bolts to replace the locks

If that's the case why bother looking for another key. If the Porsche locks are as easy to remove as you say, and now that everyone knows how to remove them, not much reason for having them in the first place. The locks would then just be a PIA as NorthVan already stated in his post.

well, i just had more time to think about it since i posted this yesterday and have decided to do away with the locks.

i have not posted anything new regarding removal. wheel locks are really meant to slow down the theif or make him consider an easier target. its why you see some people use lock lugs on all 5 bolts to really make the thief think twice.

bottom line is, if they want your wheels, they will get it.

if it makes you feel any better, the above mentioned is the shop removal method. the likeyhood of a thief carrying around a compressor and impact tool and hammering on your wheels is very slim. though skilled ones will get what they want.

northvan and i have muti sets of wheels so removing wheels is routine and better off with simple lugs
