Advice On Acceleration Lift And Rear End Copntrol
I have run out of options. Had a Modena 360, nothing BMW has stirs my soul. I have a Prius to content my "green" urgings. I track a Lotus Elise.
I want a cab/conv and this makes choices limiting. With my past horrible experiences with 4 P-cars, I have to consider what I am being told, that they are more reliable. Reliable works for me. I have a boat if I want mechanical headaches and downtime.
I guess there is a serious curiosity, a budget number under $100K, a willingness to forgive and the most important criteria of all.
I'm out of options.
This wasn't f/end lifting, it was a feeling of diminished feel, same now?
Any possible feeling of float has been taken away by lowering the car with the H&R springs in my car atleast. Its a relatively inexpensive mod but a must both for looks and handeling. I have the opposite effect with regards to road feel with my 20" wheels but I'd say even with stock 19's the road feel is excellent. I've owned some pretty fast cars including the neutral handling BMW's and none of them compare to the handeling of the Porsche. You should test drive a 997.
I have quite a bit of seat time in 997 S cars (C2 & C4) in dynamic situations. The cars are actually quite stable overall. Dropping the throttle in mid-turn in a loaded situation is a no-no--if you're on the street or track...
The cars will also start to 'pendulum' in heavy, abrupt transitions (like a decreasing autocross slalom).
That being said, you should be able to maintain forward momentum (facing forward!) @ all times if you don't get too silly w/ the controls--have fun!
