Noob: 1st pcar input

I agree, integrity and car dealerships just don't go together. Another reason why I had selected the private seller car as my post for input. I prefer to deal with individuals over dealerships anyday.
Also, I look at the aero kit like this. ordered and installed during the factory rollout has to be a much better install than having dealership mechanics install them aftermarket. This is why it is the main criteria in searching. I am not closed to the non-aero's I am just a turn-key sort of guy. I work a lot, drive a lot and have little time off. So for me the car could stay non-aero for awhile before I get to add it.
I undrstand the jitters behind the installation but these aerokits can be installed . Have you looked at some of the quality work on this forum ? Or my car on the other side of the map?
But peace of mind goes a long way. The problem is that the mandatory aerokit narrows the search, increases the price, and overlooks more important aspects of the car.

It doesn't increase the price per say when searching because non-aero still needs to account for the additional expense of adding it later.

100 bucks an hour for labor . five grand for the part .
One of the largest problems with the aerokit cars is that a C2S new with Pse , full leather, aero cost nearly as much as a Gt3 MSRP and dangerously close to a Turbo .
Woudn'y you rather have a car with 5K miles and you add the things than with 20K miles and 4 years old ?

If the car you find does not have headlight washers, you can get the aerokit for even less. $3,695.

It's a personal choice...but I don't see any value in an aero kit on a Carrera. For me...you buy the car you want to buy. Carrera for value/performance. Carrera S for a little more. Turbo for straight line. GT3 for twisties. GT2 when you want it all and can pay for it.
Paying extra to put a look on a car that it isn't...just doesn't work for me. When I see a 993 with a tail and it's a non-turbo, for me, I just don't like it.
Not looking to start a bunch of flaming, just how I feel.

The worst part about my Porsche experience is shopping for one. The best part is driving it.
The car we ended up with was more than we wanted to spend, but I believe it was worth the hassles saved. I was so blinded by that Grey/Terracotta car I didn't even see the paint imperfections you mentioned on the roof. You seem very thorough in looking at these vehicles, so I am sure whatever you end up with will be good.
I have PM'ed you with an offer from a guy up in North Cal on a 06 silver C2S with aerokit. It may be a good fit for you.
Hope you find your car soon! good luck!

You can't take the seller's emotion out of the bargaining equation but you can take the buyer's out of the bargaining equation (in this instance the OP is the buyer). Make an offer, support it, move on.
If a buyer wants to buddy up instead of acting like an adult and treating the transaction as if it is nothing more than just that - a transaction - have the buyer buddy up with his local dealer. He's prolly going to maintain and repair the car, get him to love you.

You see, this is the problem no one in this thread appears to be understanding. You nor I can control how someone else feels. One person is insulted if you offer $1 below his asking, the next at <insert any number you want>.

Based on your preferences, I would look for a car with self-dimming mirrors, pwr seats, and paint color of choice.
The rest of the items can be added after the fact, and some of the aftermarket options available may be better than the factory options: there are tons of stereo upgrades so much better than Bose, Sport exhaust system is nice but an AWE, Tubi, or Fabspeed sound just as nice if not better.
Yrallis1 made a great point about the aerokit... it's going for a pretty good price now and should not be a factor when choosing the car. Part of the fun of owning these cars is the process of customizing and upgrading.
Good luck on your search.
