Noob: 1st pcar input
Thanks Charles for the additional input.
It will be a DD so I was looking for as close to what I want from the get go. Also, I need to be able to keep the warranty in place to the end and maintain all aspects of reliability. no engine mods planned at all. I could possibily do some interior bits down the road. My situation is slightly different from many other buyers I have read about on here. The stereo is no big deal I agree and it was just a nice to have item.

It's a personal choice...but I don't see any value in an aero kit on a Carrera. For me...you buy the car you want to buy. Carrera for value/performance. Carrera S for a little more. Turbo for straight line. GT3 for twisties. GT2 when you want it all and can pay for it.
Paying extra to put a look on a car that it isn't...just doesn't work for me. When I see a 993 with a tail and it's a non-turbo, for me, I just don't like it.
Not looking to start a bunch of flaming, just how I feel.

The worst part about my Porsche experience is shopping for one. The best part is driving it.
The car we ended up with was more than we wanted to spend, but I believe it was worth the hassles saved. I was so blinded by that Grey/Terracotta car I didn't even see the paint imperfections you mentioned on the roof. You seem very thorough in looking at these vehicles, so I am sure whatever you end up with will be good.
I have PM'ed you with an offer from a guy up in North Cal on a 06 silver C2S with aerokit. It may be a good fit for you.
Hope you find your car soon! good luck!

I saw yoir car on auto trader in my search of his region. By far it is the nicest 997S of any of the cars he is looking at with parts from Ruf, Techart , Hre, Fabspeed , Damptronics .. etc . The cost of adding those aftermarket things is enormous plus the time to install them is something a noobie may not even know . I picked your car instantly and then when I realized it was yours I deleted the post figuring that you might comment.
It does have 25K miles and is an 06 and I do understand why a specialty car like yours would be priced higher and the one he was looking at with 20K miles and the same age priced at similar levels -yet yours has it all !!!!
My vote always goes to low mile cars . It also goes to newer cars . I am not sure if the OP is looking for lighter color cars as his selections tended to be white and silver but I do feel yout car is worth considering and ought not be ignored.
I will leave the things like the inspection and price negotiation between you and whoever decides but I always liked yoir car and seeing it reminds me of when I first came to 6speed. Good luck with the sale .

I also looked at his car. It's stunning no doubt. But Black as DD is not a good choice (for me) the main reason for the lighter car colors and metallic paint preference. I think you can all tell that since April I have narrowed my playing field to where I know what I want and am in the final meters toward the end of the race.
the options for me are the better mid mile (16 - 20k) 2006's or between the couple 2008's very low miles and a little more for me to spend. I am surprised that there haven't been a lot of 2007 factory aero cars that show up with miles say betweem 8-15k that could be the sweet spot.

To the OP,
Not sure if this one is on your radar. Not in Cali and I know you don't want to travel out of state, but it does look good.

I have three of them and yes it is work to maintain them but I view it as a labor of love .

Indeed you do. Your's is pristine. as you can tell from my Noble avatar, I am partcial to gray. If maintained perfectly yes they look great. but the labor of love and time is something I sadly don't have. I prefer to drive rather than polish. This is why the community of owners is so vast. So many people with the same passion for the car itself, but we vary based on the intricacies individual ownership brings (or in my case, the strive for ownership)

When Joe and Steph looked at cars thry both had a range of flexibility . The snag with your search is that it's so limited . Part of the reason is that many buyers did not pay the extra cost to buy the aerokit and PSE .They felt it was overpriced . In fact Joe posted the Suncoast link which sells it OEM aftermarket at a better price than had the person ordered it on the car . When you finally do find it the car it is either in another state or has 18K miles and years of age.
Steph looked at the grey car and ended up buying a beautiful 08 new car.
Joe extended his search from coupes to to cabs too and was open to what was available , the variety of colors , and the mods which were on the car.

Thanks for the kind words Larry. I like your car very much as well, and it is very close as to how I would set up my Turbo, when I buy one
I have been speaking with another prospective buyer here on 6speed and the price online is not the same as the price that I'm offering here on 6speed.
The reason that the prices are different is because of my broker, who is paying for all the listing fees, and he believes he can sell it for top dollar (plus he wants a big commish).
Just like you Larry, I like helping out future potential Porsche owners. My intention on commenting on this thread was just to put in my two cents and to help give the OP some insight in buying a used car since I have experience with owning these wonderful machines. Any interest in my car would be purely coincidental
as I don't mind more free advertising.

I didn't notice that. pics were so fuzzy. Thanks for pointing it out, good eye. Only looking for 6spd manual.
I so glad that I posted here. With everyone's help I have slowed my pace and search and things are going great. I have learned a lot. It's hard to be patient, but I know it will be worth it when I do find that right 1st p-car.
