The MPG thing for the M3 is widely varied....

I actually owned a M3 DCT and averaged about 18 MPG commuting in town and the hwy. I had a buddy with a 6spd that did about 17 MPG avg.

Not great but not 13 MPG either.....

All this being said the 997S is a more fun car to drive and much more focused which is evident from the first time you slide yourself into the seat. But, there is no better all around sports car than the M3 IMO.....
