pdk c2s vs e92 m3
does anyone have any knowledge of how a first gen 997s would do against a convert e92 m3? Its to my understanding the convert is roughly 900 pounds heavier than a 911 and its 65hp advantage would be negated .any thoughts?

Of course, the Porsche probably cost a good $30k-$40k over the cost of that M3, so it had better be considerably faster.

Well, the 2009 911S has about 30 hp more than the 2008 911S. So that's going to definitely make a difference as well. So you and I with our 2008 911S cars with 6MT are defintely going to be much closer to the M3 than the 2009 S-car with PDK.

Here's a video of E93 vs. 997.1 C2S vert. 911 is slightly faster:

There's another video of the 997.1 S vs the manual M3 and the M3 won but I felt that the 997S driver was extremely overweight and slow shifting .(video below)
The new 997.2 car clearly is faster and it may even give a stock Turbo a nice run (stock to stock) up to third gear . In my opinion the 997.2S is the best value new car Porsche . Priced 50K less than a Turbo and 100K less than a highly modified one it's pretty quick yet can drive through any city with ease and comfort.

The PDK 997S is impressive, does not change anything vs. the MKI.
