Hi guys,
Will ATE super blue stain the master cylinder? I have been using ATE Typ 200 (Gold color). I think about alternating between super blue and Typ 200, so that it's easier to know when the new fluid is in the system.

Yes ATE Blue will stain....use Motul RBF600 and you will be fine on the street or track...much better than ATE Super Blue.

 

i use ate blue...and stop faster than mdrums with ceramics
i flush often...every other track day..

the super blue does not buy you a ton over factory. depending on your time between flushes, take a look at these data. I use SRF. - sorry about the formatting.

 

thanks for the great info..looks like Motul is the best bang for the buck...ate blue 1/2 price from porsche fluid and a little higher boiling temps..i flush ever 2 months so may try Motul..thanks again. i personally think it is better to use a little cheaper fluid and flush more often if tracked often..imho

I have a Power Bleeder, and I do my brake fluid so often that I only push about 500ml out in total. I have a jug that I measured off in 125ml increments and force the bad stuff out of the brake line.

are there any DIY links that you know of how to power bleed the brakes..was told by porsche that the way the 997 is designed you have to flush all the brake fluid out hence 180$ charge....

Here is a link to a thread that I started last year. There are a bunch of tips.

It is really easy to use. I found that I was all concerned before I started doing these bleeds, now I find it takes about 30 minutes to do when I do the tire change over.

Mike, bleeding/flushing the brakes is very simple. Call me and I can go over this with you.

 

Thanks for the article. Is it really that easy as taking off the wheels, connecting a catch bottle and opening the nuts? After attaching the bleeder and filling the reservoir, of course. Sounds much easier than I ever thought. My car is going on 3 years old, so I'm looking at doing a brake flush.

 

I use ATE super blue in the battle wagon (my wifes Audi A4 Avant).

I tried it in my '07 987S and it not only stained,but made my clutch squeak on engagement. My BMW did not exhibit this behavior.

I flushed 2 days later with Motul RBF 600 factory line (my usual poison) and the squeak went away. This is not uncommon apparently.

In automatics, it's good stuff.

 

228$ bucks at delaership with motul 600...next time will do the flush myself..

Do you guys also bleed the clutch slave cylinder? Much easier to do with a lift, but still messy. The slave cylinder holds quite a bit of fluid, so I make a point to bleed it while the system is pressurized.
