Mad props Alex...

Not far off Stu... the 997.2 is just no slouch! You've got another 20odd HP out her too. Last time we were on a straight with the 3 (with a LWF no less) it certainly didn't pull away

Now wait till you see what this stuff does to that TT-thingy!

What about a 997.1 Carrera S? How much HP would a 997.1 Carrera S would gain from the Evoms software?

A tuner should be able to incorporate all the variables within reason to their tune. This would basically be offering 1 or 2 tunes rather than stages as in the past.

Please contact me for any questions.

Hi Scott - I'm currently looking for a 'remap' for my 997S.1 and Softronic is very much on my shortlist. I have a few questions if you don't mind.....

1) I'm in the UK - does your software work OK on a UK spec car?
2) I always run my car on 99-RON fuel (Shell V-Power). Does your software adapt to higher-than-98-RON fuel? (Porsche claims max output from 98-RON for the standard programming).
3) I have a full AWE exhaust system on the car. Will that require different mapping as the volumetric efficiency of the engine will have changed at certain rpms?
4) I've heard talk on Internet forums about your software operating differetly to other tuners. What's fundamentally different about your approach to tuning these cars?

I hope you don't mind answering so many questions. I'm just extremely interested in having some more information on how these 'remaps' work and what is and isn't really possible from them. I think many others on here would also be very interested in your replies.

Many thanks

I had Softronic on my 2007 Carrera S and noticed a difference, especially at the track. I did not have a flat spot in the mid rpm's and the car ran even better at the high rpms...where it lived at while tracking.

The part I liked best about Softronic is I installed it myself in a matter of minutes and if I needed to I could go right back to the stock setting.

You would gain +23 HP and +19 LB/TQ. With the gains set aside the drivability is totally transformed. The power band is much smoother throughout the whole rpm range and the throttle is much more response ( Sport Pedal Technology )

We currently offer and money back guarantee if your not completely happy with your results from your re-map.

porscheboy -

So far no issues and very easy, although I'm on Step 5 of a 6 step process and I believe the last step is where any complications may arise.

Step 1: Order the upgrade from Softronic
Step 2: Wait for "the Cable" to Arrive in the Mail
Step 3: Once the cable arrives, download and install the Softronic S/W via a link they provide
Step 4: Connect the cable your car's diagnostic port and your laptop - The s/w will read out your DME and automatically transmit the file to Softronics. You are asked to add information about modifications prior to transmission (presumably to account for those when generating the tuned file).
Step 5: Wait for Softronics to send you, via email, a new file tuned for your car (they promise a 24 hour turn around).
Step 6: Not sure because I haven't done it yet - but I think it is just reconnect the cable and upload the new file to your car using the Softronic s/w.

Pretty straight forward so far.

I received the "tuned" file today via email with detailed instructions on uploading it to the car. The load worked flawlessly and took a total of about 5 minutes.

When I first started the car and drove out of the neighborhood I was thinking, "Jeez - no big change..." I drove to a nearby gas station and got on it a bit and was thinking, "I think there is an improvement, but maybe it's just a throttle remap..."

Drove it a bit more, HARD, and "Hoooolly sheeet" it really started to come alive! It really stated to rip through the TACH. Anything beyond 3500 RPM and hard on the throttle and honestly it just whips to 5500-6k RPM. Never experienced anything like it. I have to say the car is transformed. I won't make a claim that I'm going to run down a GT3RS, but the improvement in acceleration in mid-range revs is very significant, noticeable and thrilling! I am thoroughly enjoying this MOD and would recommend it to anyone on the fence! This is what I was looking for when I bought the car to start with.

Now, to my first DE next weekend to begin to get the driver dialed in

The only thing I hate in the Porsches is the throttle response... It's like an old lady car, nothing happens when you hit the gas! It's different if you have the Chrono, changes the throttle response a lot. Thank God I have the Sport Button with the Chrono...

That lack of throttle response can be fixed very easily.... EVOMSit and its Sport Pedal feature
