Sport Pedal equates to more responsive throttle settings.

softronic vs evoms tune

Does anyone have a opinion or experience on the performance results between Softronic and Evoms flash tune? I'm making my decision this week and would appreciate the input.

The problem is almost nobody has tried flashes from the different companies and compared them, so there's no real way to pick between them. They also all seem to basically do the same thing (adjust timing for +10-20 HP, make throttle response steeper). Also most ECU tunes turn off or turn down some of the engine's self-protection mechanisms, so a question is : what does it do to the long term health of the engine? The fact is they haven't been in use long enough to answer this yet (maybe on 996's) and even if they did we don't have good enough statistics to know.

Some things I would love to see from the tunes :

1. If I put on more mods after getting the tune, can I get an updated flash for free or a discount? Ideally I would be able to reflash it myself and just check some boxes for intake, headers, cats, whatever mod.

2. What exactly do you do to the throttle map? Like, show me a graph. Ideally I would be able to make my own graph.

3. If I use 91 or 93 or 100 octane does your tune detect it and optimize for what I'm running or do I have to get a tune specific to one gas?

+1
i want to know how the engines take such tuning on the long run. Also, are both Evomsit and softronic non detectable by dealers? Are they both flashed by the obd port? (i know softronic is but what about Evomsit?)
