Surely has nothing to do with headroom. Far too subtle. Either just styling or some aerodynamic thingie. Seems very subtle for airflow, but at the speeds these things can go, small changes matter.

looks like the bottom of a high performance longboard. Maybe it provides more down force.

Downforce, aerodynamics and creates more rigidity with the seams over the smooth panel.
