I went for the c2 over the s because for a dd do you really need a little more torgue/ hp and improved acceleration, the regular c2 is still a great car and love mine

just curious - did you do bluetooth integration with PCM or is it external?
I am currently looking into options to get it done too.

Great looking car. S or not it'll be plenty fun to drive.

Get the Tooki bluetooth kit and if you can read instruction and use screw drivers, it's an easy 1 hour job. The kit cost is high but the integration is seamless, and I am sure it will add to the resale value if you ever decide to sell.

I bought a C2 non-S 997.2

So far I dont have S-envy. I do track the car.

I find it more fun than the Cayman S I had before. Although magazines seem to try and convince me that the Cayman S is better than a base 997.

I think as long as you dont have S envy, get a good condition car and have fun with it.

Very nice - you'll enjoy the car for sure. Look forward to the updates.

For Bluetooth you can also look at Dension (http://www.dension.com) or mObridge (http://www.mobridgeinc.com). There are many threads on both - just search on the names - and both will give you iPod connectivity as well if that's of any use.

I had the mObridge in my 08 which worked fine, although Dension seems more popular in the States.

Spare wheels

I'm planning to get a used 997 C2. I have looked through a few cars but noticed that all of them does not come with a spare wheel. Does the 997 runs on run flats or they come equip with tyre sealers?

If you get a CPO car you also get Porsche roadside assistance. I also have one from Geico, as it is not expensive at all.
Therefore on those cars (and prety much as on any extreme sport car) if you blow a tire is is not really 'fixable' in most cases, you`ll need to get a new one, and by getting new tire it usually means either at least set of matching 2 or even set of 4 if you are paranoid to have all your tires match perfectly.

Then it comes to question to have to wait for tires to be shipped to you from tirerack or other discount seller because price of Michelin PS2 in local tire store may be over excessive. So in my case I simply have second wheel set in my garage.

They do, but do yourself a favor and never use it.

I have look through a lot of used 997 brought in from UK and Japan. I noticed that the undercarriage of the cars from the UK are noticeably rusty compared with Japan specs. The sales person told me this is caused by corrosion from salt being applied on the road during winter in the UK.
Does this have any impact on the car on the long run?

By the way, in 05 when these cars had to be ordered waay in advance, the C2 cars that were available were usually optioned to the moon (where most of the dealer profits are)
My 05 C2 has almost every option (19s, Sprot chrono, xenons, full leather, ect) everything except the 29 hp, self adjusting clutch, dual pipes and the white guages (which are harder to read IMO while zooming)

my .02.......enjoy
