Good Salespeople in SoCal (mostly) - from a new 997.2 owner
I posted this in another thread but given the number of PMs I received regarding my purchase I thought it may be deserving of its own thread.
Here is a list of salesmen/dealerships on the West Coast that came across as stand-up guys in my dealings. Note that I contacted every dealership on the West Coast/Southwest during my due diligence phase and a couple on the east coast as well.
I hope this helps people out.
The following folk in no particular order are highly recommended:
Adam @ Rusnak (Westlake)
Ken @ McKenna (Norwalk)
Roger @ Hoehn (Carlsbad)
Howard @ Don Rosen (Philadelphia PA)
Matt @ Pioneer (San Diego)
Only one dealership/salesperson was so horrible as to deserve special derisionand that was Justin Dang @ Livermore. Steer clear of that ******bag.

Suprised there isn't a section on 6speed to list dealer experiences (including the service departments) of Porsche dealers across the country. I know the sales departments (can't speak of their service departments) of the two dealers in Oregon are a joke.
Joe, I've dealt with both the Beaverton and the Bend dealers in Oregon and I completely agree - they are a joke. They seem to think they are the only game in town and I guess they're right, but anyone shopping for a P-car will certainly check Seattle and they may likely check California as well. They need an attitude adjustment :-)
Brian Hughes at Bakersfield is a standup guy. He has never had a 911 I wanted before
(1 TT and 2 GT3's) so this time when I told him I was interested in a C2S he really went to bat for me after answering my questions for 10 years.

My experience with Carrera Motors in Bend was pretty much a joke when I tried to buy a car from them (or at least I think they are so out of touch with reality that I'm shocked they are still in business).
Long story short, I was looking to buy a 2007/2008 997 Cab. I live in Portland. They have a 2008 C2S Cab that they have had on their lot since early 2008, they punched the car in July of 2008, and it has a M.S.R.P. of right at $100k. They have it listed "on sale" for $90k. I was referred to them by someone who had done business with them so it wasn't like I was calling them just kicking tires. I inquire about the car and tell them I am ready to drive the 3 hours over the mountain with cashier's check in hand if we can find an aggreable price. They come back and say the best they can do, given that I'm ready to buy with cash in hand and since I was referred to them, is to sell me the car for $86k. Seriously? Really? They are trying to unload a car they have had sitting on their lot for 18 months that has had the warranty already started over a year ago (car is basically used by now) for $86k? REALLY?
These guys need to pull their heads out of the sand. When guys are buying brand new 2009 997.2 cars for $23k off of M.S.R.P. (20% off) and these jokers are going to offer me this, yeah, good luck to them. Let's just say I found my car in California where they knew what real transaction prices are at.
