SI-1 Complete Fuel System Cleaner

SI-1's injector and valve detergent is a concentrated package of the most powerful high-temperature detergents available to clean gasoline fuel injectors or carburetors, intake valves and combustion chambers and can clean injectors to nearly 100% efficiency in one treatment. The cleansing effect on injector deposits can raise fuel economy approximately 12% or even greater, depending on the condition of the injectors.

SI-1 also contains detergents and a synthetic upper cylinder lubricant which will help clean pollution control valves and can reduce octane requirements by two numbers. SI-1 also protects the fuel system from rust.

Use one bottle with a full tank or use in smaller doses for continued maintenance, as SI-1 treats up to 100 gallons. Safe for continual use.

I have used Lucas in my cars with good results. It is not harsh and I notice that my cars run smoother after I use it.

It is unlikely, with today's gasoline, that you ever need to use a gas additive of any kind. If you use gas that has 10% or more ethanol, chances of a dirty fuel system is even less likely.

Research the need for an oil change after use of any "engine cleaner" if you are not already doing so. Manufacturers of these products, Techron, for example, are not real forthcoming about this. Oil contamination may be more of an issue than dirty fuel injectors.

That's us here in Cali...I still like to run a bottle every 5k miles or so. I imagine it doesn't do no harm, correct?

Oh well........To all you non believers, read last months Excellence: "You should change the oil after after these cleaning procedures as they tend to contaminate the oil", Technotes,pg 24. Or not.

There is no need to change your oil after using an additive anymore than it is necessary after running gasoline in your tank.

The technical engineer at Chevron (Techron) advised me to change the oil after using their product. I would advise ne1 who has a question here to do their own homework.

One item of note, with 2009+ DFI engines none of this stuff ever hits the valves. Seems like a waste on the new engines.

Don't be suckered into using this stuff just because of marketing. As I mentioned above, it is rare to ever have to use any type of fuel cleaner in your engine. Save your money for something worthwhile.

SAE papers suggest otherwise
the fuel we are using today is the worst in history and the OEM's are paying out large amounts in warranty because of poor crude resulting in more internal contaminents
Read up on the oil being used in the US after 9/11, it's terrible stuff
Also read up on Top Tier gasoline

I highly recommend Terraclean as it is the safest and non toxic to you and the environment
Terraclean actually works as advertised unlike many of the other potions which are mainly just harsh solvents

Look at who pays for those studies and what their agenda is.
