Yep....another new 2009 911S owner
Hi all
After months and months of reading this forum, I decided to take the plunge and buy a 2009 911S a few weeks ago. I got a 6MT with the following options.
Meteor Grey
Black standard leather
Self Dimming Mirrors
Heated front seats
Seat Ventilation (love this in AZ)
Dynamic Cornering Lights
Bluetooth
Sport Chrono Package Plus
Bose High End Sound
XM radio (really liking this)
Universal Audio Interface (for the iPhone of course! Had to buy the correct cable from Suncoast)
The first order of business (within the first 5 minutes of ownership) was to change the amber side lights to clear. I also got my windows tinted with Huper Optik Stark (wanted Drei but it has a green hue that I wasn't so sure about).
I currently have a 06 A8 (wife's car but I love driving it with the kids) and a 08 335i (terrific all around car when you put in a JB3 but I was left wanting "more").
My final three choices came down to the M3, 911S and M5. Drove the M3 DCT which I really loved. The M5 was terrific (great power) and both BMWs were better to have with my family (2 young girls- 5 and 18 months).
I decided on the 911S because it has always been a dream of mine and the current prices are at levels previously unseen! I ranked them in this order 911S, M3, M5.
Initial impressions:
Pros:
1) Love the handling. I feel like I have total control over the vehicle and I love being down low and have great visability
2) The sound....I often turn down/off the radio so I can just listen to the exhaust!
3) How the car looks. When I get home, I often get out and walk around to look at the car from different angels (is this normal?)
4) The ventilated seats. Never had them before and didn't know how much I would love them.
5) Being back in a 6MT. However, I am second guessing if I should have gotten a PDK car...hmmmm
Cons:
Not many....the car is a delight. I guess if there was anything it would be
1) the seats. I just can't seem to get totally comfortable in the seats. I test drove a car with the adaptive sport seats and loved them. I'm a normal size guy (6'0, 170) and my shoulder blades just don't seem to fit in the seat back. Perhaps, I just need to get used to them?
2) the exhaust. While I love the exhaust (see above) I'm already itching for something more. I'll be looking at Tubi, Sharkwerks etc shortly to see if I can mod the exhaust.
That is about it. I need to drive the car a lot more to provide better feedback. I'm still very much a noob but happy to be part of the P-car family (hopefully for years to come!)
Here are some pics of my new ride.

I got the 6 speed after an SMG M3. Couldn't be happier going back to double clutch downshifting. I got the adaptive sport seats which I really looked for. It's funny, the seats fit really well, but the bottom is really narrow. I'm 5'11" 170, I couldn't imagine how much fun it would be if you were 200+. My hips barely fit between the bolsters. And that's with the inflatable bladders totally deflated. Maybe I need to change my position a bit.
Enjoy the car - an '09 is quite the hot ticket. I'd die to have the seat ventilation too!

Beautiful car and color... but I'm a little biased. Your car is basically a one year newer version of mine. The seats will get better. I thought the same things as you, and I'm 6'2" 230 lbs, but now I am very comfortable in the standard seats.
+1 on the seat ventilation. My wife's Escalade (family truckster) has it and its wonderful.
Hit up Sharkwerks for the center muffler delete exhaust.
