Not sure what the difference is between my 2008 997.1 C4S Cab and your 997.2, but this is what I've done.

Since I wasn't going to track my car, I chose to go with springs versus coil overs to save on cost. I chose TechArt springs and since my car has PASM, the drop was 15mm. Perfect in my opinon. I also went with HRE P40's in 19 inch as I think 20's are just to big on the 997. Here's a side profile.

Joe -On my Turbo I began with the Techart springs and agree with you that the quality and ride height were outstanding . The performance was improved and i left my car's suspension alone for a year .

Then I got the Bilstein bug and pss10 damptronics along with the Gt2 sway bar really upped the ante . The big difference that i noticed was that on the springs byond the harder ride it felt like more work load was placed on the tires . The Biltein have some play in how they adjust and going into a corner the suspension helps out the tires by sharing the work load .

after a lot of reading on the Turbo forum and since yoir car is AWD widebody --there were many posts where forum members discussed ideal height and gt3 alignment specs . At the time I sent some of this info to my technicians and when we did mine it helped in our discussions .

If you are interested here's the thread .. I learned a lot here -- post 115 might help you https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...red-turbo.html

Larry, thanks for the tips and the link. I'll have to look into that. Yeah, I would have gone the coil over route if I had a coupe and/or I planned on tracking the car. Since I don't, I just couldn't justify the $$$'s with everything else that I was doing to the car.

I felt the same way until I did it . The ride is more comfortable and the performance is incredible . In fact many of the track guys are opting for a less adjustable coil over . The Bilstein offers street and track versatility .

I already have a track car, so I'm not sure I want the expense of coil over shocks. I was wondering if just lowering springs would do the trick.

Also, would going with 20" wheels help fill in the wheel well area? If so, would 245/325's work?

I'm open to any and all dress-up suggestions, too.

Thanks

Here's what my dealer said about lowering springs:

a) They have a stiffer ride
b) They prematurely wear the inside of the tire b/c of alignment.

Is this true?

a) Ride doesn't seem to be any stiffer after my springs were installed.

b) I do know that it was required to have an alignment done after my install but not sure if springs will cause the alignment to go bad sooner. They didn't tell me if I need to have an alignment done more often now that I'm running on springs.

There is a ton of information on these boards about springs versus coil overs. I think the majority of the people will say that coil overs are definitely the way to go and that lots of people have put on springs and than changed to coil overs later. Not saying that I won't ever do that but right now, I can't see why I would. Perhaps I'm just not that much of a driving enthuasiasts as others are because driving my car with the TechArt springs on, I love the way it handles and it rides great.

JoeShark,
How much did the Techart springs lower your car?
Do you recommend any sources to purchase them?
thanks

There is a great thread with a guy who took before and after pics with H&R lowering springs, I think. Could be helpful to you. Instead of coilovers, has anyone done springs and shocks? Most people have posted that the Bilstein damptronics results in a good ride on normal, but renders sport way too stiff and therefore useless. Seems that a good spring set like TechArt with adjustable Konis (for example) might make a good combination.

My car has PASM so with PASM, the TechArt springs will lower your car by 15mm. Cars without PASM, the drop I believe is 25mm. You can download the TechArt catalog and it has all the informtion on there.

Lots of the vendors on this forum sell them but I just had the place that I had them installed source them for me. They are more expensive than H&R springs but there are some that say the H&R springs may sag over time. I know Alex over at SharkWerks previously used H&R springs but now uses TechArt. You might want to shoot him an email as he's a great guy with great info.

Will post up better pics soon, these were taken with my bberry.
Forgot off the top of my head but I know with this sizing I am withing 1% of stock 19 sizing.
Could you please post some pics of the rear 325s, I'd like to see how good and wide they look from the lower back of the car?

My dealer quoted me $1250 to install the H&R springs and said he needed to do an alignment, too. $1450 for the TechArt springs. $3600 for the Bilstein Damptronics. Do these prices sound stiff, or am I being stiffed???
