That price is ridiculous for spring install. I was also quoted $1150-1350 for Eibach spring install (not including the cost of the springs) I then was referred to AtSpeed Motorsports in Hanover, MD who quoted about $500 less for the spring install and alignment. Even at $100/hr shop rate -- your quote of $1250 means that it is going to take 12.5 hours to install springs? That's a joke. A shop can do the spring install in no more than 5 hours. An alignment should cost $200.

If I'm not mistaken, Eibach makes the springs for Techart. Why would anybody pay a premium with "Techart" inscribed on a spring?

This is the first time that I am hearing Eibach made the TechArt springs, if they do then you are right

I think I'm going to go the Bilstein Damptronics route. I'm hearing a lot of guys say they started with springs, then later switched to coilovers. Plus, I need my PASM to work.

You won't have to second guess for sure if you go with the Bilstein's over springs. If it wasn't the cost factor, I'd have done the same but since I don't track my car, I was comfortable going with TechArt springs. With the TechArt springs, they are compatabile with PASM (see their website) and my PASM continues to work perfectly.

Certainly not surprising. Techart certainly doesn't have a spring fabrication facility and Eibach and H&R I think are basically the only real fabricants. I've found the Eibach stuff to be better. Never reports of "sagging" or spring rates that are too stiff for the application.

I would need that PASM to work too. Checking other threads though, other people have reported that the soft setting is acceptable, but the sport setting is so hard, it's useless. It's almost too stiff even stock.

The Eibach Pro Kit spring set is $320 at TireRack. Hard to imagine the spring set is much different than the TechArt set that has a much bigger price tag. Lowers the car 1.0" F/R.

On 997.2 w/PASM and Damptronics, 'Normal' to me seems a tad tighter than I recall PASM Sport in 'Normal'....but also, do not think the 'Sport' setting is a firm as I recall PASM Sport in 'Sport'.

And this is just our case but personally I doubt we will be using the 'Sport' anyway, as it's a car I set up for the wife, and like George, I have other cars.
If a good (or very good) 'Normal' ride is what you are after, along with being able to tune the suspension, I still say Damptronics on a 997.2 is one viable option.

Now if that's the case, that is an awesome result. I have read at least one report saying the Sport setting was useless.

Your wife is pretty lucky...

As joe shark mentioned the Techart for PASM is only 15mm - and the Eibach Pro Kit (1.0" = 25mm). I wonder if the Techart spec springs can be ordered from Eibach directly and save some$.

That may be because the PASM cars may already have slightly shorter springs. The Pro Kit lowering may be slightly less from PASM cars. Now that I think about it, all S's are equipped with PASM...
If Eibach is making a special spring rate for TechArt, they are not going to sell it without the branding. All comes down to how "custom" the spring rate really is.

That's the main reason I went with TechArt. Because of the steepness of my driveway (and for more everyday usability), I could only drop my car 15mm. I know another 10mm isn't that much, but enough to make a difference for how easy it was to get my car in and out of my garage (I actually got down on my hands and knees and measured with my car parked in various locations on my driveway). The TechArt springs were the only one's I could find with documented information stating they would only drop the car 15mm with PASM. Also, they were the only one's with stated information they wouldn't mess with my PASM.

Hey Joe - so how is the ride with the springs and the PASM shocks? Is it bouncy on normal? I'm wondering how it would be on Sport. The sport setting is amazingly stiff for a factory setup, I only find it tolerable over 70 mph. At slow speeds it is hard as a rock. And I've had an Eibach pro kit and coilovers in my two cars previously. You live a bit far from me for a demo drive...

Hey Rye,

Yeah, be a bit far to meet up for a test drive

Anyway, the ride is great with Sport on and off. One thing is that our roads out here are in really good shape so that helps things out. I probably drive with Sport off 80% of the time and I really can't tell much of a difference at all to before installing the springs. Sorry I can't be more specific as I didn't have the car very long before I installed the springs and now that I have them on, I find the car to be perfect in terms of ride and comfort.
