997S pricing

What's the best price for a 997S in the USA now? Give or take options, just in terms of dollar discounts off MSRP, what's happening? I've heard first-hand accounts of discounts, but I want some specifics to help negotiate with a Bay Area dealer and get a fair market price.

Cheers,

Adam

at least $5k off an "s" sounds appropriate considering the dealers have told me they are not selling very well

Niello in Sac only offered me MSRP on an S and $1500 off of a regular 997 and I purchased two other porsche's through them. They didn't seem too eager at all to deal.

I'm getting 5% off a 997 non-S, about $4,000. They are also charging me 3% to sell my '02 on consignment in trade, about $2.000. Net $2,000 off new car. Tax in my state is on the trade difference... so a big savings there.

I'm thinking with the current direction of US$/Euro parity, that a price rise in Porsches will be imminent.

You might get 4 off a heavy optioned car

They might deal on a $100,000 equipped car.

I've found that MSPR is the norm here in So Cal, the S cars are gone as soon as they hit the dealer and the standard Carerra is selling well too. I've also found that if the car has a ton of options the dealer has more room to deal.
