New Turbo Info Released
Using the 9A1 as the base engine adding turbos is reassuring for its reliability. Same for PDK.
Offering the L/R paddles as an option is OK. Keeping the current paddles as std is a sign of confidence on a contrarian design that makes sense.

There aren't many changes on the exterior except the Taillights and Wheels...
Also I believe that the Turbo with 3.8L and DFI could get at least 30HP easily, just with an ECU... I think Porsche does not want to make the new Turbo faster than the GT2

downplaying this "facelift" (duno what else to call it since drivetrain changes), will let porsche be able to ramp up performance numbers for their next gen car easily
"The 911 Turbo now hits 62mph in 3.4sec with PDK (0.3sec quicker than today’s Tiptronic auto)."
Fast.
If you noticed that 2007 turbo prices were coming down before this.... just you wait and see what happens now.

Perhaps HRE could chime in here as it would be interesting to hear their thoughts.
a local dealer here in san diego has one with those center lock wheels already:

Yes those wheels look awesome. I think Porsche has been making nice wheels for years. I have a set of Carrera Classics and Sport Designs both of which I think are nice looking. Fuchs are classics that will never grow old. The only problem with Porsche wheels are they are heavy.
But yikes - those wheels on the Cab - don't like - looks like they stole 'em off an M6.
I understand your feelings, but there's way more to this package than 20 HP, As far as 991 TT's, I wouldn't expect to see those any earlier than mid-late 2012 as a 2013.
The P40 is a little more sculpted than the Porsche wheel, but of course it's a five bolt, not a center lock. It was inevitable that Porsche would move away from the GT1 block. Granted that the GT1 split case has a long and storied history, but technology has moved on. It will likely continue on in the GT3 if for no other reason than the psychology of the buyers for that particular model demand it. Unless an owner has a burning need for PDK, there's little to be gained (and a lot of dough to be lost) by moving from TT.1 to TT.2. This was also true for the NA 997. Porsche's model changes will remain evolutionary w/ the 911 as long as it retains the rear engine and the overall shape. I wouldn't expect too much radicalism for the 991 or whatever the next generation 911 is code named unless it's a mid-engine design!
As if HRE's basket weave type, split fork design is anything creative. These date back to BBS's classic design. Sorry just not an HRE fan at all.

If anything, Porsche finally has a wheel that is the bomb and won't cost you $6,000.
