Rear Wing Up. Why?
Rear Wing Up. Why?
Hope I don't get flamed for this, and maybe I'll get a little break since I'm still a bit of a noob to Porsche, but...........
Why do I see 997's parked (as well as pictures of 997's) with the rear wing in the up position? Do owners think the car looks better with the wing in the up position? I just ask because I think the car actually looks horrible with the wing in the up position no matter if the car is parked, driving 10mph down the road, or ripping along at 80mph. I think the backend of a 997 (and all previous models of the 911) is the best looking part of the car and the wing in the up position just breaks up those lines.
Just my opinion.

also correct me if i'm wrong but the wing automatically comes up if the car senses that the temperature gets too high
i like the wing
I will keep it all the time when on the track, the up and down of the tail is a distraction for other drivers. When I am on the highway, and going for a spirited drive, I will leave it up all the time. Law Enforcement is well aware what speed these tails will go up at, makes it a little tougher to prove the speed that I was traveling.
