new 08 c2 cab
new 08 c2 cab
what % off list should i get from the dealer on this car? currently they are @18% off. any issues with the 08? currently i have an 05 c2 cab. Any reason not to go with the 08 if the price is right?
Not much reason to get an '08 when you can get an '09 for that much off. Add a few more details - I assume you're looking at a "new" '08? Is the warranty already "punched", i.e. started? Are you talking about % off MSRP?? That is a used car now, nearly 2 years old. A non S '08 cab should really be in the 70ks, I would guess. Seems like the dealers have more incentive to get rid of '09's than '08s.
Already punched? You could probably get an '09 in the range of 20% off. Much bigger depreciation hit on the '08. Some of the '08 warranties have already been started and they may not CPO it. Pretty big negative as well. For $10k more you get an '09 and it is worth more than $10k more than the '08. I love the way dealers talk about off MSRP on used cars...
You can get an 09 f0r not much above the 76. In fact 14K more will place you in an 09S reather than an 08 base. 76K is already going in deep .. IMO might as well go just a little deeper.
non-starter

Tell the dealer they are out of their mind. There is nothing that should sell you on that price.
Put it this way ..

You could get the car as an '09 base for the exact same price they are offering you with some minor searching. If I were you, I'd go to KBB, look up the used car price for the car they are offering you, give them a cut above it (something fair) and make that your price. If you buy at 77K you are going to take an enormous hit (on drive away) and you'll be upset when you see all the guys on the forum buying 09's for the same $$, but getting the bluetooth, ipod, nav, and whatever other options you might want to have.

Pass on the 08 as they are now the fat girls at the school dance. Again, the minute you drive off you will take atleast a 12k hit on that car..better to buy an 09 without a doubt. That car isn't going anywhere unless it's in the low 60's...so wait them out until 2010 if you must have it.
