Removed the Carrera S and added a "911" Badge...
Sorry for the poor Ipone pics. I think it looks pretty clean. I ordered the badge in black thinking it would be pretty stealth looking but in actuality you couldn't really see it over the black paint. So I just painted the badge myself with spray paint (yes spray paint) several layers and it came out really nice. I have no idea if it will chip off right away or not. If it does I will just order the chrome one. Either way it is a pretty nice little athletic mod for $35 dollars. I always loved the 996 Anniversary Car. QUESTION: Should I add the "S" or keep it as is? Does anyone have any suggestions for double sided tape so I can re apply the original OEM "S" properly?

Your rear looks great, with or without the 'S'. I added the 'S' thinking it would be more unique and took it one step further by spray painting it red, yes, spray painted it myself also! Just buy a new 'S' I think it's about $20, otherwise buy a very thin strip of 3M double sided tape to reuse the original. Also, as a side note, you have already centered the 911 emblem, now adding the S may leave less room on the right and more on the left making it off center. Might not bother you though, I'm just super picky sometimes.

Am I missing something here? The Porsche 911 series ended in 1989. Since then there has been the 964, 993, 996 & finally the 997. The exception is the 911 GT1 developed in 1996.
So, are you guys simply 911 'posers'?

I don't think that there is a 997 badge, is there?

A 997 is a 911, 997 simply refers to which generation of a 911 it is. 964, 993, 996 & finally the 997 are all 911's. The 911 has been around from 1964-present.

I guess someone forgot to tell Porsche corporate and product marketing as they're still inaccurately using the 911 product name. Why dont you drop them a line and let them know the web site and print materials are wrong.

Damn . . . I might have to retract my 911 comments. The new GT3 RS is called a 911 so I guess it's 'relatives' (labeled as a 997) falls under the same umbrella.
Therefore you have my blessing to adorn your 997s w/ 911 script.
