I did the PDK version in Leather - not too hard, just takes some patience and the correct tools:

Don't flame me, but I can't stand Alcantara. I have it on my roof liner and that is where it belongs. It doesn't wear well especially on places where you put your hands (steering wheel, brake lever, shift ****). But that is just my opinion, I know some people love it. For me it's real leather or nothing.
Wow that's a great price!
The alcantara on the headliner is a much softer version than what goes on high tactile areas: steering wheel, shifter and e brake, etc. I find it much more pleasing to the touch than the hard leather.

My brother had Alcantara steering wheel and shifter on his BMW. Looked worn out and like crap after 15k miles. Not sure if it's the same quality material that Porsche uses.

The whole point of alacantra was supposed to be that it is grippier than regular leather, right?
So I can see that on a steering wheel and the shifter, but on the e-brake? I guess it rounds out the look....

Right - just a bunch screws basically. That link I posted has some very detailed CC removal instructions (a PDF from MCCarbon for a CF CC upgrade). If you follow them explicitly and have the correct tools, then not much to it other than time - ~3 hours for a slow amateur like me.

I'm no fan of Alcantara either for that sort of trim, but different strokes...
If you Google Alcantara you see that it's actually a brand name for a faux suede leather. Like most parts on a Porsche, it's not a Porsche product but one they spec for their interiors and may very well be the same stuff BMW specs in their cars. I can't say that I dislike it ( although I much prefer leather ) but I have always been amazed at what Porsche charges for it as it's synthetic composite material and not made from leather. However, with that said, as Porsche prices go, the price for the shifter-brake combo looks like a bargin compared to what they charge for other such combos in leather and or leather/wood.
Alcantara is expensive in BMWs as well - only coming with Ms and top line 7s - and probably expensive in general. It is a nice fabric, but that suede look - whether suede or Alcantara - just doesn't work for me past the roof liner.

I agree with Steve, but then my name is Steve too. Just not a fan of the look of suede or Alcantara. On the roof liner it's out of sight out of mind that is why it's tolerable. How often do you look at your roof liner?
