Wrong Car But Happy as a Clam...Oh and XM?
If he did get a manual .. it woild cost less but my feeling is he MUST get the car the way he wants it (with pdk and sc) .. especially on the second attempt.
Negotiating tools --
You have to be prepared to negotiate the lock the deal and get the right car. Here are some logistics which may help you -
reasoning with the dealership- point out how they can benefit too while expressing your sentiment.
1) You are not happy with the options and the car is othewise perfect .
2) They get to sell you a unit and they also get to profit on the used car which they can CPO .
3) They get to retain you as a loyal customer because they have insured your happiness in the right Porsche for your needs from their dealership .
There still may be pool cars at the dock and if there are you might find one that they may be willing to get .
It's too bad that its not the end of the month when the sales pressure is more motivating but I do not think you ought to wait . Every mile driven on that car and every day that passes reduces your chance for the swap for less expense.
Good luck .

I finally figured out how Larry can afford all those mods...sales kickbacks!
Just kidding, good advice. Having no regrets will make you the happiest. One thing I've learned about cars though, they don't last forever and they keep making them better so you can always upgrade later. OK, that was 2 things.

I am fully aware what SC+ does for PDK...I own a 09 with PDK and SC+....7500+ miles 6 tracks days....1st person on 6speed and rennlist to get a PDK car....very aware!

Here is what SC and SC+ add to PDK. I'm pretty sure all of it can be achieved through tuning (except maybe launch control) though you may not have the convenience of dashboard buttons to control the modes:
"Our test car was equipped with the Sport Chrono package, which gives the PDK two additional modes - Sport and Sport Plus. In Sport mode, the transmission shifts more quickly, with more positive clutch engagement. Sport Plus adds much quicker shifts at full throttle, and both modes use a more aggressive shift map in automatic mode. The Sport Chrono pack also includes a launch-control feature for the PDK, which dumps the clutch at 6500 rpm and then modulates throttle if necessary for optimal grip. It also knocks an additional 0.2 second off the rush to 60 mph (now accomplished in only 4.1 seconds for Carrera S models, 4.3 seconds for the base model)."

You seem offended by my comments. They were intended for the edification of those not in the know reading this post not necessarily directed at you personally. Isn't that what forums are for?

OK, that was 2 things.Everything I have learned has come from owning thse cars (8 /maybe 9 Porsches) and following the market as an owner facing resale or purchase . When younger every cent counted even moreso than now and with time it became like a hobby .
The fun for me is watching someone get a new car . It's always been exciting for me and eveb still there is a certain feeling about driving anew Porsche home . Hard to describe .. yet all of us here who own thse cars know it.
Two possible options for XM.
1. If you have an AUX jack (look under armrest door), just run the XM in there.
2. A less desirable option is to use an the RF transmitter built into some (maybe all) of the XM units. This is not as good of an option but it works, and may get you by until Porsche comes out with the XM add on to PCM 3

I was wondering though; if I plug in an iPhone with the Sirius/XM app will the information (song title, artist, etc.) read out on the PCM display or just on the phone itself? That might be a good option.
Ditto, it's the only option I wish I had in my ride. But...since it was 2nd hand, it's not like I had a choice.
